Advantages: Nice tasting chocolates here

Disadvantages: Hard to find 10 as I am not a chocoholic

Now I must confess that I am not really a chocoholic. I like chocolate and enjoy eating it, but my first snack would always be Crisps given a choice. However sometimes you just have to have a little chocolate and therefore I have included here my op 10 Chocolates.

1 My first choice has got to be Galaxy Minstrels. The combination of the hard outer shell and the lovely galaxy chocolate in the middle is just awesome. However it is very important that the Minstrel is cold (and I mean really cold from having been in the fridge for a number of hours). I hate it when Minstrels are soft and you don’t have the hard crack as you bite into them. All in all these are by far the nicest chocolate in the world.

2 My second choice has got to be Flakes. Flakes are really lovely to eat and just seem to melt in your mouth. Of course they are a little messy as they break up so much, but the taste more than makes up for it and indeed the fact that it does break up into little tiny bits is what I enjoy. The part that I really like is when you have eaten most of the Flake and you have all the tiny bits left in the packet that you eat at the end, YUMMY!

3 My Third choice has got to be MILKA chocolate. Now Milka chocolate is not as well known in the UK as some other brands, but I know it originally from Austria. It has a different taste to Galaxy or Cadbury but tastes lovely. Don’t get to eat it so much anymore, but I recommend it to anyone who wants a slightly different taste.

4 My Fourth choice (and to be honest if I had remembered it earlier it would probably be in second choice, but I cannot be bothered to rewrite what I have already done) is Terry’s Chocolate Orange. I really enjoy the taste of the chocolate orange in Terry’s oranges and the fact that to get in you really have to hit it hard to open up the individual slices / segments. I do however have one rule with Terry’s oranges and that is I only eat them at Easter. Why limit myself to basically 1 a year? Well this way I always enjoy it and look forward to it and it stays kinda special, rather than something that I eat all the time.

5 My fifth choice is Cadbury’s Dairy Milk. I still think that as a single chocolate bar (and thus not taking into account all the small snack bars like Flakes etc) Cadbury still has one of the nicest tastes. I always have to eat one piece quickly by biting it in half to get the taste and then like to suck on a second piece, allowing it to melt in my mouth. Now that is nice chocolate.

6 My Sixth choice is a Mars Bar. Now I do not eat many Mars Bars nowadays as I find them very filling. But the nice combination of a Mars Bar when you are hungry with a cup of Tea is great. Should you ever need a sugar rush to kick start your day, then a Mars Bar is excellent. I must admit that I have tasted a mars Bar in batter (i.e. like a sausage in batter from a Fish & Chips shop) which was such a big thing when I was in UNI but supposedly the combination is quite unique and really tasty. Not quite so sure myself.

7 My Seventh choice is Lindor Milk Chocolate Truffle’s. I like these a lot but I cannot eat much more than 1 or 2 at the most as they are just so sweet, but they really taste good and the inside liquid chocolate is awesome. First had these in Basel in Switzerland and have never forgotten it, but you can buy them just about everywhere now.

8 My Eighth choice and to be honest by this point, I probably hardly ever eat this chocolate because I really do not eat that much, would be a Kit Kat. Made by Nestle and this is a nice snack to have on your own or share. The combination of wafer and chocolate is really nice and goes very well with a cup of Tea. Years ago when we lived in Austria, they first brought these out in Austria and we used to love having them as a treat as it was a little something from home.

9 My Ninth choice is a simple TWIRL. Twirls are so similar to a Flake but without the actual flakiness and falling apart. Twirl’s do taste nice and are recommended but given the choice I would probably go for a Flake unless I had to make certain that I do not make any mess.

10 My Tenth and last choice would be Maltesers. I used to like these a lot more, but lately I have gone off them. They are really nice to eat and really light so they are a good snack. However lately I find that I just do not enjoy them as much as Minstrels so rarely eat them.

I hope you enjoyed reading my review on chocolates. Please do leave me comments on your own Number 1 choice.

Summary: Some nice choices of chocolates with Minstrels getting the Number 1 spot.

I love Flakes but mostly it ends up on my desk or my lap.

Mine would have to be Turkish Delight, I think I may eat a few to many of those.
