Advantages: Some funny stuff
Disadvantages: might not be to everyones tastes
It is really hard to think of my Fav 10 movie quotes... But these are the ones that spring to mind -
1) Ace Venture: "If I'm not back in five minutes...just wait longer!"
I love this film and even now find it as funny as very, I personally felt that Jim Carrey got a little to much after being in several films and the same acting style became a little boring and hards to watch. However the 2 Ace Ventura films were classics and a fantastic introduction to Jim Carrey. Ever line is funny and fun, and the characters lovable.
2) Big Daddy: "Having a kid is great... as long as his eyes are closed and he's not moving or talking."
As a huge Adam Sandler fan it is hard to pick out just one quote - But Big Daddy is one of my favourite Adam Sandler films and this quote for anyone with or without kids is relatable. Kids can be adorable but they can also be a bloody nightmare!
3) Forrest Gump: "Mama always said life was like a box a chocolates, never know what you're gonna get."
If you say this line, everyone knows the film, actor and setting. Forrest sat on a bench with his box of chocolates. I believe any movie that produces a line that everyone knows and loves deserves to be a classed as a winner. Even if you don't like the film - you know the line!
4) Nancy: What ever you do, don't fall asleep!
A bit of Freddy - the biggest Baddest Nightmare of them all. When Freddy Kruger first came out I was quite a bit younger and not technically old enought to see it, but of course my mates and I managed to see it - and I have to admit I didn't sleep properly for weeks afterwards. Watching it now that seems silly - but the idea of a guy popping into you dreams and attacking you really was scary. This quote sums up the entire Nightmare on elm street series of films perfectly.
5) South Park: "Sorry kids, I just can't trust something that bleeds for five days and doesn't die. "
I like South Park any way but this quote by Mr Garrison about Woman is brilliant - it still makes me laugh no matter how many times I hear it. Matt Stone and Trey Parker are fantastic and whether it be inappropriate kids or crime fighting puppets their writing is original, and pure genuis - they have no problems exploring and making fun of all things.
6) Waynes World: "Garth, marriage is punishment for shoplifting in some countries!"
I love Waynes world and our introduction to the brilliance that is Mike Myers. It was either this quote of their interpretation of bohemian rhapsody (which unfortunately was a litte hard to include in this list). He has a point!
7) E.T.: "E.T. phone home".
A classic film, great for Adult and Children alike... I watched this when I was little and still watch it when it is on TV.
8) Jaws: "You're gonna need a bigger boat"
As you can see there are a lot of cheesy classics on my list. I loved jaws and even though it is cheesy and unrealistic, it is still a great film.
9) Fight Club: "The first rule of Fight Club is - you do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is - you DO NOT talk about Fight Club."
I loved fight club, one of Brad Pitts best performances (althought I haven't seen many). I love the psycology of this film and this quote is what the film is about... people that know the twist at the end should be able to see how this related to the entire theme of the movie.
10) Knocked Up: "Yeah, it's a cure-all. My buddy Jonah broke his elbow one time. He just smoked some weed. It still clicks, but it's cool."
A new film, a brilliant film. As you can see most of my Favourite quotes are from comedies, things that make me laugh are always a winner!
Summary: Make 'em laugh!
