Q. What is your favourite genre? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The type of books I read very according to my mood and situation - often depending whether I am going to be doing alot of commuting/ traveling or am at home/ on holiday. At the moment I am addicted to memoirs and other real life stories, especially true tales of people who have lived through communist/ Nazi and other tyrannical regimes or other accounts of 'triumph over hardship'. Q. Do you read the classics, i.e. the great authors of the 18th/ 19th centuries? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ No - I studied Thomas Hardy/ Jane Austen etc for A-level Engish and all that ... Right, that's enough from Thomas Aquinas, now here's Steerpyke. I have been waiting to do a challenge that I found interesting instead of the usual "what's your favourite colour underpants" and "do you prefer Marble Arch or Christmas" and at last something presented itself when I was least expecting it. It was always going to be something that had a music or literary bent. Found this floating about a while ago and thought I'd have a go, I believe it was launched by that stalwart of the community Malu, so thanks for that.Anyway here we go. Question: What is your favourite genre? I used to read a lot of Fantasy books ... Read the complete review

One exception was the wonderful Wild Swans by Jung Chang. Q: Do you read the classics, i.e., the great authors of the 18th and 19th century? I have read a few of them in the past, but I have tended to favour foreign writers rather that English literature. I have probably read more books by writers of the twentieth century rather than ... This challenge was lifted from a review by Hogsflesh which appears to have been set by Malu. Question: What is your favourite genre? - Based on what I tend to read the most it would be crime thrillers in particular I like the work of Richard Patterson and Lee Childs as they are fast moving and easy to read. Q: Do you read the classics, i.e., the great authors of the 18th and 19th century? - Can’t say that I have read many of these however in my opinion you could nclde work of a more modern nature in the form of Orwell and Tolkein and then my answer would be yes. Q: Are you interested in thrillers? ... Read the complete review

This is an old ‘challenge’ I missed out on first time round (set by MALU). As a conscientious dooyoo person, I should probably feel a twinge of guilt, as it’s hijacked a totally unrelated category. Although since it’s a ‘top ten’ category, it’s of minimal use to any consumers who happen to be passing, and loads of other people have done the same thing, so I guess that makes it OK. (Or, to put it another way, I’m painfully close to getting my next amazon voucher, and I’m sick of waiting for my various product suggestions to be added. It was either this or the erotic ‘challenge’, and I doubt that anyone really wants to read about my… er… ... Read the complete review
