Newest Review: ... of the black and white era. Fast paced, thought-provoking, and loaded with humor, you also get the added bonus of Julie Andrews voice! The issues raised between King and Victoria are certainly unique, after all how many heterosexual men are dating women who are passing themselves off as a female impersonator?! However, it is also interesting to see how they explore masculinity, feminity, and society's views on it all. FAVORITE LINE: When asked how they could possibly be planning to play golf since it is still snowing, King replies, "We'll use Red golf balls!" PRACTICAL MAGIC: CAST: Aidan Quinn, Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidma... more

"Doubt thou the stars are fire, Doubt that the sun doth move, Doubt truth to be a liar, But never doubt I love..." Shakespeare continues to be the most profound philosopher to ever capture human nature with mere words and phrases. He certainly didn't fall short when it comes to the topic of Love either! Many writers have come along over the years who have dazzled and delighted, yet Shakespeare still strikes me as one of the most enduring illuminators of Truth. It amazes me how relevant his works still are so many generations later. Whether looking at the joys, hurts, laughter, jealousy, or misunderstandings that this highly volatile emotion can ...  Read the complete review

I’m a sucker for a romantic movie. Well, that’s not quite true, if I’m going to be absolutely accurate I’m actually a sobber for a romantic movie, have been for as long as I can remember. I find it intensely embarrassing, so I’m trying to exorcise that embarrassment by telling you all about my favourite romantic movies in the hope that your laughter and derision will cure me. Here they are in no particular order: Titanic Lets get the worst one out of the way first, shall we? Yes, I’m fully aware that it went on for hours and hours and its full of cheese, schmaltz, corn and other things that probably shouldn’t even be mentioned. However, I am a girl, ...  Read the complete review

The most romantic thing that a man ever said to me was probably “Do you swallow?” Its my own fault for being attracted to Neanderthals who are more likely to club me over the head, and drag me to bed by my hair than give me a bunch of roses. I’ve never gone for the sweet sensitive type, perhaps its because I’m so sensitive myself. Just to prove I’m not cold hearted and bitter, here are my most romantic films. An Officer and a Gentleman The famous scene in which Richard Gere sweeps Deborah Winger off her feet and rescues her from a life of drudgery is the definitive romantic image. Back in my call centre days I often used to fantasise about this ...  Read the complete review

***** TOP TEN ROMANTIC MOVIES OF ALL TIME ***** I am the first person to admit to myself and anyone who cares to know, that I am an absolute sucker for a bit of slush in a movie. RomComs are my favourite, but to be fair, I will even watch an action/thriller type of movie if there is even the slightest possibility that the male and female leads will get it on. However, as there are any number of pure-out-and-out romantic films to choose from, here are my top ten favourite. Let me know what you think! ***** Titanic (1997) ***** Directed by James Cameron **The Love Interest** Jack Dawson Leonardo Di ...  Read the complete review

Oh romance, it is such a wonderful thing. I like to think I know a thing or two when it comes to romance and my boyfriend is completely clueless so I constantly try to get him to watch all of these romantic movies so he can get some ideas. There is nothing better to watch on any day of the week as a romance movie to get you in a good mood so here is my top ten of all time. While you Were Sleeping; Sandra Bullock, Peter Gallagher and Bill Pullman star in this absolutely delightful movie about a woman working at the ticket barrier of a train station and every day she sees a businessman and wishes she could just catch his eye and they could run away ...  Read the complete review
