Advantages: Hopefully you'll like it,
Disadvantages: You might not!
After reading several of other peoples top 10 characters, I thought that it was about time I threw in a few of my own. Hope you enjoy:
10) Stewie Griffin (Family Guy)
Stewie is the younger child in the Griffin house hold, he has an odd shaped head and is obsessed with killing off his mother and world domination, although in later episode his more flamboyant characteristics have appeared to dominate. While stewie is "evil" he also has a softer side, which we see with his relationship with Rupert (her teddy bear). The exchanges between Stewie and Brian (the family dog) are very funny. I think I love Stewie because he is so unexpected; this is a one year old baby who is an evil genius - Brilliant! However, his character becomes much deeper than this in later seasons; the question of his sexuality is raised on several occasions. I just enjoy the freedom that comes with this Character, anything can go.
9) Homer Simpson (The Simpsons)
The nations most lovable father figure, hopeless, irresponsible, crude, reckless and yet fun, caring and 110% devoted to his wife and children. His technique of disciplining Bart by strangulation is still funny after 10 years, his lack of knowledge on anything to do with Lisa is still quite charming as he tries, and his romance with Marge is timeless. While my dad is not quite like Homer Simpsons, he does embody the spirit of every dad I know, a hardworking man (ok maybe this doesn't describe Homer) - who doesn't always get things right, but tries and does it all for his kids and family.
8) Buffy Summers (Buffy The Vampire Slayer)
I loved Buffy when it was aired, and have since bought the series on DVD. Buffy was the ultimate Female role model, although she is initially a reluctant hero of Sunnydale, she soon becomes the town saviour. She is tough, yet human, intelligent and fun. She goes through so much during the series, but eventually comes out on top.
7) Tony Almeida (24)
Tony is the best sidekick for Jack in 24 - They tried a season without him and it just wasn't the same. I was so glad when he was resurrected in day 7. He is the person I would trust the way Jack does, I loved this characters evolvement throughout the seasons. In day one I was a bit unsure about him, due to his conflict with Jack, but as their friendship grew and his romance with Michelle grew, he became a favourite of mine.
6) Neil "Smithy" Smith (Gavin and Stacey)
Funny, loveable and the greatest friend a guy could ask for. His relationship with Nessa is hilarious and heart felt. His bond with the Shipman family is evident from the first episode, this is his second family. He is very likable, funny and has a heart of gold.
5) Chandler Bing (Friends)
Chandler is the best "friend" he is funny and witty. Charming but not as charming as Joey, a bit of a geek but not as geeky as Ross. Monica and him has a dream relationship, that every girl hopes for. I know that everyone has a favourite friend and Chandler is mine.
4) Peter Petrelli (Heroes)
Peter is brave, fearless, kind and loyal. With a wide range of different powers (until Volume 3) he had an advantage over the others, but he rightly deserved these powers. He has took on his own family to do the right thing, and continues to battle for what is right.
3) Dr. Gregory House (House)
Gregory House - dry, crass, selfish, but unbelievably clever and funny. He is the doctor you'd want on your case. His unorthodox approach towards medicine is exciting, unique and he is always right so it obviously works for him. His relationships with Cameron, Foreman, Chase, Cuddy and Wilson are intriguing and compelling to watch. An extremely enjoyable character.
2) Uncle Bryn (Gavin and Stacey)
As a massive Rob Brydon fan anyway, I was probably always going to like Bryn. He is so old fashioned, exactly like a loveable uncle should be. He is funny, and a little daft - just a brilliant character.
1) Jack Bauer (24)
Jack is the ultimate Hero! He takes down entire terrorist units single handed, he is loyal to his country and will take every step needed to protect his country. He has made too many sacrifices to count and there are still more to come. Wouldn't want him on a plane with you, as you know that plane is probably going down - but you would want him fighting in your corner.
Summary: My favs through and through.
