Advantages: :)
Disadvantages: :)
Here are my top ten TV characters, laugh at me if you wish, tell me I'm young and in to trashy TV, but I love them. I have thought really hard about this, I don't watch much TV, so some of them are a little bit outdated, I used to watch much more TV when I was younger, until I realised it was a complete bore and I could use my time doing other more productive and creative things (such as writing reviews on here!!!)
1. Shell Dockley
The ultimate bad girl, her sayings used to crack me up, I would laugh at her supposed hard knock character, and the time she was pregnant and working in Amsterdam was almost too funny! Incredibly witty, I would have loved to have been her mate if I was inside with her! Debra Stephenson was on an impressionist show this last weekend, her Davina McCall impression was too fantastic. I also think she was brilliant in Coronation Street, well what I saw of it anyway.
2. Patsy Stone
I have never laughed so much at any one person in my days. The time the kitchen sets on fire and they are looking for her, then this big charred form moves and sits up and there's Patsy's face, fag still hanging out of her mouth, well I fell about laughing. One of my favourite TV moments ever! Bring me the knitting needle! Joanna Lumley is a brilliant woman, as was proved recently when she won a pride of Britain award. Clever, compassionate, funny, beautiful and extremely talented.
3. Edwina Monsoon
How could I list Patsy without Eddie? The falling out of a taxi is all I have to say about Eddie. Sheer brilliance, and Jennifer Saunders is probably one of the only celebrities in the world I would do anything to meet.
4. Rodney Trotter
He is the spit of my Dad, which makes me drawn to him, I love funny people, and I can imagine Nicolas Lyndhurst being funny in real life. There is no way you could play the role of Rodney and not be! I love it when he is a security guard and Del takes his girlfriend out to 'look after' her. Rodney is so gormless and dense!
5. Linda La Hughes
Gimme Gimme Gimme is one of my favourite TV Series ever, and Kathy Burke one of my favourite actresses, so it makes sense that Lindy would make my list. Her extreme ridicularity makes me cringe. Especially the way she goes on about her childhood and her Mummy. If you havent watched the series and you like a giggle, you must tune in!
6. Rachel Green
Not many people's favourite friend is Rachel. In fact most poll's are topped by Joey or Phoebe. But I love her. Particularly her naivety when it comes to adulthood. She may not be the funniest of the group, but she is the most charming and her character would be the way I would describe what I look for in my friends.
7. Nancy Garvey
I fell in love with Soldier, Soldier at a very young age. In fact it made me want to be in the Army and it made me join Army Cadets. What I most loved about Nancy was her inability to do her job. As a military policewoman, she used to let everyone off when they carried out minor offences, and I just thought she was adorable! Paddy was indeed a very lucky guy.
8. Cliff Huxtable
The Cosby's! My favourite ever! Witty, clever, family comedy. Where has that gone now? I loved Bill in his role as Cliff, particularly his embarrassing Dad dancing and his love of his wife. He was admirable and respectable, and I wish they still made programs like this!
9. Karen Walker
Who doesn't love this spoilt, conceited, annoying woman? Well I don't know how you couldn't because she is funniness personified! I love her when she shows her sensitive side and it nearly makes her ill. Fantastic writing, and fantastic acting!
10. Tanya Turner
I would like to state that this list is by no means in list of preference. Tanya is the number one bitch and I love her deviousness, the cross over ITV did with Footballers Wives and Bad Girls was one of my favourite TV moments. I used to love the way Zoe would make her eyeballs shake when she was confronting someone! And the T on Conrad's bum was great. I have wanted to do that ever since!
Summary: 5 outta 5 for me!
