Tottenham Hotspurs are a completely different team this season after the introduction of Glenn Hoddle as manager. The team are now playing attractive football and there defence has also tightened up. I can see the club grabbing one of the European spots this season and also maybe getting to a major domestic final like the FA Cup. The turn around has partly been down to the players that Glenn has brought in over the summer. Here is a brief run down of the players who have made a difference.

1.) Teddy Sheringham - This is probably Glenn's best buy. Teddy won lots of awards last season whilst playing for Manchester United but due to competition for places he was not assured a starting place at the club. Tottenham jumped in and what a buy it proved to be. Teddy is not your usual centre forward as he plays just behind the front men and links play. Teddy is also very good in the air and normally gets around 15+ goals a season. As was seen against Greece Teddy is still a world class player and still has a few good season ahead of him. Sometimes his off the field behaviour gets in the way but he seems to have got better the past couple of seasons.

2.) Christian Ziege - Tottenham purchased the German defender / midfielder from Liverpool after a disappointing season at Anfield. The German international is more of an attacking player as can be seen from his goals already this season. Ziege is one of the main players at Tottenham this season. All the passing moves go through him and he is responsible for corners and throw ins. He has a massive throw which is another weapon that Tottenhame will use through the season.

3.) Gus Poyet - Tottenham grabbed Poyet from London rivals Chelsea for a fee over 1 million. Poyet has very good spell at Stanford Bridge but he could see that this season he would not start many games. Tottenham were keen and Poyet has been a regular starter under hoddle. Poyet is a great passer and always gives 100%. Sometimes his t
emper gets in the way but he hasnt been too bad this season so far. Poyets main strength his is goal scoring ability. He has been on the score sheet several times this season already and looks like a bargain buy.

4.) Dean Richards - Richards is Hoddles latest purchase at Whitehart lane and is the most expensive as well. Richards arrived from Southampton last month and has been an ever present so far. He is strong in the air and tackles well. He is an ideal replacement for Sol Campbell.

As can be seen Hoddle has strengthened the club in all the main positions. Add to that the players he already has like Anderton, Ferdinand, Perry and Sullivan. It looks like Tottenham have a very bright future in front of them.
