Traitor Authors ... the Blairs' ex-nanny to the Beckhams' ex-bodyguard and books like the recently published 'Shadows of a Princess', it appears to be flavour of the month in the literary world. Let us know whether you think the public right to knowledge outweighs a celebrity's right to privacy here.

People that write about famous people that they have had dealings with at one time or another have a 5 minute claim to fame and for some of them its a way to earn a quick and easy buck or in some extreme cases they use it as an act of revenge to get back at somebody for some past misdeeds. Everyday the tabloids are filled with stories from ex nannies who have had flings with their rich and famous employers to glamour girls who are desperate enough when something like sex is handed to them on a plate but then will go on to sell the story the minute the forementioned party loses interest, in those cases if they behave in a certain way they can't expect to be ...  Read the complete review

being someone who writes fiction a good deal of the time, I would like to offer a personal insight into teh treachery of authors. I once read an excellent and true thing. "If you know and author, the odds are there is a character out there with your ears" can't remember who wrote it though, sadly. Author's must write about something, and most will inevitably draw on their experinces of life and people in order to create. I certainly do. There are ethical ways of handling this, but not everyone does. I thin that it is largely unethical to write about someone when it is clearly them, and not to gain consent. (exceptions to be ...  Read the complete review

I can think of nothing more likely to leave a bad taste in your mouth than someone making money or getting famous on the back of someone else. With that point in mind, it will come as no surprise then that I have no time for books written by 'Traitor Authors'. Unfortunately, the public in general can't seem to get enough about some celebrities. Magazines like Hello and OK! prove this by constantly hitting huge sales figures by reporting on the world of the celeb. Some may say that if you choose to live in the public eye, then having your so called friends and associates selling you up the river goes with the territory. I, however, ...  Read the complete review

Has anyone been sneaking though your stuff to sell info. to the papers. No I thought not, so if this did happen to you how would you feel. If someone you trusted sold you out would you object, I thought so. These are two of the arguments used by the effected celebs. to support there case. I say to them get real. If you use the publicity machine to promote yourself, your image or your product you make your whole life subject to inspection. Gettting into bed with the papers, the TV etc. etc. is like getting into bed with the devil and you should expect to be turned on when they feel like it. I am not in any way holding the media responsible for this, I ...  Read the complete review

Traitor Authors: Money spinners (397 words)

Knowing the Beckhams' vanity, they probably put the help up to these publicity schemes with the books apparently coming out against the couples' wishes at the time of another poor Posh record release. Her singing career is going down the pan where it came from and she’s probably very jealous over David’s continuing mesmeric rise to the top. She has even resorted to literally airing her dirty laundry in public with the stolen luggage fiasco. Hands up who went to court when their case went missing from rotunda C after the return flight from Malaga was late. Hmmmm, thought so. Nearly all celeb and political books make more from the serialization in ...  Read the complete review
