Newest Review: ... presents for the local children. They will enjoy receiving them and you will enjoy giving them. If you take medication, pack enough for three extra days. If it's important medication, take a copy of your prescription. Sometimes it is interesting to see what your medication costs in other countries. Some prescription drugs are much cheaper. Some cost an awful lot more. I, of course, have travelled without mine once or twice. I wasted a lot of time trying to remember what I took and trying to get the pharmacists to understand! So take your prescription in case your meds are lost, spoiled or stolen. It's easy now on the web to find out if... more

Travel tips? People travel for a lot of different reasons, work, holidays, to visit family and friends, to 'get away from it all' or to 'find it all'. I am lucky enough to travel quite a lot, both with my work or just for a holiday. Here are a few tips, some of which I learned the hard way. Most of them pertain to travelling abroad. Some might be useful wherever you go. ~~~Before you go~~~ Check the validity of your passport. Has it got plenty of time before it expires? Some countries demand a six month clearance. Check it out so that you and your family are not left heartbroken, embarassed and holidayless at the airport ...  Read the complete review

Q: How many times a year do you travel? At least 6 times a year- but this can be for a weekend, a week or a fortnight, depending on where I go. Q: For how long do you go away? Usually at least a week, but I enjoy short trips, such as a weekend and day trips. Q: Do you stay in your home country or do you go abroad? I mainly stay in my home country (England) but I do enjoy going abroad but can only afford to do so biannually. Am going to Cornwall in October and Weymouth for a Turkey and Tinsel in November then Egypt next February. Q: Do you organize your holidays yourself or do you go to a travel agency? Everyone knows the obvious when it comes to travel, do your research before booking the holiday, take out travel insurance, bring enough cash and credit cards and the list goes on. Most people know what to do, however in reality there is one fundamental factor that can make your travel enjoyable or not. My first piece of advice for anyone visiting a destination is to know someone there, a contact who lives there or knows the place very well. I have been to many destinations around the world and time and time again I feel like it's the same as any other place I have been. The reason for this, tourist attractions are artificial, catered to tourists who want to ...  Read the complete review

These are the very essentials you need when you go backpacking for however long, maybe it's only a tow weeks round the UK trip of an epic RTW adventure. But where ever you go you'll need these things: - Don't buy too much at home;you can get clothes, cosmetics and even a backpack in most of the backpacker cities like Bangkok, Mexico and Manila for only 10% of the Europe price. Especially outdoor sandals are extremely cheap! - Bring Sun block as this is the only really expensive thing in most hot countries as the locals don't really use it and you'll need it for sure. I ended up paying 12$ for a 150ml bottle somewhere in Cambodia. - ...  Read the complete review

Someone once described me as well travelled. Personally I don’t think so. I’ve travelled a lot in comparison to some people but there are always new places I want to visit. Anyway, here are a few of the things I’ve learned when travelling to countries like India, Singapore, Indonesia, Greece, New Zealand, Czech Republic etc. Tip 1: Always learn a little bit of the language. As English speakers, we can be incredibly arrogant about the fact that everyone else will speak to us in English. That’s just sad. You don’t need to learn much, simply learning what “Yes”, “no”, “please”, “thank you”, “can I have the bill please?” and “one beer ...  Read the complete review
