Do you find that you always take too much with you when you go away on hols?

I've learnt the hard way, last year I travelled around Europe on a motorbike and I was told by my husband that I could only take what would fit into a pannier. Those of you who have bikes will know how small these are. I wasn't allowed to take anything heavy or in an aerosol can.

I managed it and have found that now when I travel I take only the mininimal items. All you really need are a couple of t shirts, a pair of shorts,a pair of trousers, a few underwear items,a casual and smarter pair of shoes, one smart item of clothing(as many restaurants will not let you in unless suitably attired)A waterproof jacket(prefably foldable) and a warm top. Then most important of all is TRAVELWASH and hey presto these clothes can be worn many times. In reality how many people will remember if you wore that t shirt and shorts a few days ago.

If you travel as a couple, you will take less if you share your toiletries. Shampoos, creams,gels etc are unisex.Roll on deodorants are safer than aerosols. You can buy small bottles in the chemists to carry your shampoo and other things in thus saving on space.

You wil only need to do this once and will travel light from then on. I hate to say it but my husband was right.
