Troll! So what is a Troll? Well I had a troll or two in the late 1960s early 1970s. They stood on my bedroom window ledge. They were plastic toys shaped a doll a small dumpy figure with big hands and feet and large ugly facial features a squashed nose googly popping out eyes. They have lots of unruly wild hair. I think they are relatives of elves, fairies and pixies.
Trolls are I believe generally evil little people, evil mischief-makers.

I cannot clearly remember if mine came clothed but I think some of the old trolls were clothed some not. Modern Trolls yes there has been a comeback are made by a firm called DAM I think but am not defiantly sure DAM produced the first Trolls. Some Trolls come with guitars and wild coloured hair sporting sunglasses; in fact they come in an assortment of dress and colours.

I have seen small 5cm naked Trolls advertised on http://www.danglesstandrews.com The shop is in St Andrews. I do not remember actually playing with my trolls guess I may have been a bit old when I got them, but they stood on my windowsill as decoration. I never saw any really large trolls most were only about 3 or 4 inches tall. I seem to think very small pencil top trolls can be bought, although I must admit I have not really looked in toyshops for toy trolls recently.
I believe Trolls could be a collectors item, I wonder where mine are must look in my old bedroom when I visit my mum next.

Trolls often crop up in fairyland stories like Lord of the rings. Thanks for reading my opp about these nasty evil little people, Mary
