TSB Six Nations TournamentNewest Review: ... Italy. England has won the cup for quite a few years in a row but something has stopped us from winning the Grand Slam recently. In 1999 it was Wales who beat us by a small margin. Then in 2000 we were trashed by Scotland and we got revenge on Wales. Then in 2001 we were victims of the Irish who wiped us out and this time we beat Scotland. And this year, everyone thought it was going to ... more |

The six nations is the oldest still going rugby tournament in the world and just for that it deserves everyone’s respect. I have been following this amazing tournament since I was 7 years old and it has never got boring. The countries now involved with this tournament are England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France and the recently joined Italy. The Five (or as it is now:six) nations, the oldest rugby tournament in the world. Many tense rivalries (between players and teams alike) are reknidled every year when this tournament takes place. And even though there was always a superior team/teams, everyone didn't rule out the possibility of a suprise. What better example of this is there than the last game of the first ever six nations: Scotland V. England, the hot favorites to win the grand slam against the team who everyone expected to be whitewashed. The final game of the championship, England were wanting (and expecting) to win the Grand Slam and Scotland wanted (and were definitely not expecting) to get a ... Read the complete review

Having watched the few matches of this years six nations that have been played god damn foot and mouth! i have to say that when the Lions arrive the Australians won't know what's hit them. Virtually the entire England team is going out there along with a few Welsh, Scots and Irish and I think that for the first time in a long time the Lions can take them down! Martin Johnson is the first man to retain the Captaincy and the Englan skipper is looking forward to the fight and bearing in mind that this team turned the South Afircans over last year I for one won't be betting against them. If Jonny Wilkinson can kick as well as ... Read the complete review

I love this time of year. Every alternative Saturday the highlight is the 6 Nations. Being a Scot, My team can often not do too well. (I missed the Welsh vs Scots Game, I heard it was a nail biter!) I am however passionate about the 6 Nations. I think it is a superb tournament. I do not hate the English (Afterall I married an Englishman) but I do not like the Arrogant nature that many fans, players and Sports Media commentators have about the "supremacy" of "EN -GA- LAND" Your team is strong, yes but not that "supreme" Infact if you consider that you have a Bigger population than some in the ... Mama Mia!I bet the Italians wished they'd got on their scooters at half time, made their way to the nearest coffee house and sank a few cappucinos. To steal a tired cliche from another well-known sport this was certainly a game of 2 halves. The first half was a lacklustre, tetchy affair and England were lucky to go in at the interval 10 points to the good. But in the second half they were a simply awesome attacking force as the Italians capitulated under immense English pressure, conceding a massive 47 points without reply. A criticism often levelled at England is that when they get ahead in a game they lack the "killer instinct" often displayed ... Read the complete review
