As many people will have noticed, the petrol prices are on the rise again, but then again it was only a matter of time. At leas they are not as high as they used to be. I remember when unleaded was £1.20 a litre, not in my area it is around £0.88 a litre, which is a vast improvement. It means roughly a £6 saving every time you top up £20. Other tips on saving money on petrol are:

1) Certain supermarkets offer money off petrol when you spend a certain amount, so I advice spending this extra. Things like toilet roll, kitchen roll and cleaning products will never come in wrong.

2) Check on the internet for your cheapest petrol station in the local area, those 1p differences really do add up. If you fill up £20 a week, this is 20p a week, 80p per 4 weeks and £10.40 a year. While this is only a little difference, it can make a difference to some people.

3) Downsize your car if possible to a car that uses less petrol per mile. The more modern the car and the small the car, the more energy efficient they tend to be. You can check this out on the internet too.
