Petrol price to rise again The price of petrol and diesel will rise again from midnight on Wednesday, November 3, 2000. The petrol price will rise by 1 cent per litre to R2,87 for unleaded fuel (91 octane) and R2,91 for leaded fuel (93 octane). The difference between the price of petrol at the coast and on the reef remains 11 cents, thus the price of petrol at the coast is R2,76 and R2,80 for unleaded and leaded petrol respectively. The wholesale price of diesel will rise by 6,5 cents to 239,75 cents on the reef and to 228,55 cents at the coast. The wholesale price of diesel and not the retail price is regulated. Illuminating paraffin will increase in price by 3,5 cents to 163,73 cents. As in the case of diesel, the wholesale price of illuminating paraffin and not the retail price is regulated. The Department of Mineral and Energy Affairs have attributed the price increases to higher international prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin during the month to October 25, 2000.

jdidlock - 02/07/00 Thanks, SA, you underline the point no British contributor is realising, fuel price increses are world-wide, not government-generated. |
