Don't boycott the garages - boycott the politicians (UK Petrol Prices)
Name: JACGriffith
Advantages: none - this boycott hits the innocent Disadvantages: Gordon Brown will take no notice
There is little point in boycotting the petrol stations - its not their fault that petrol costs so much in this country. The people responsible for the high price won't care about a few garages going to the wall because they won't notice. I am of course referring to the politicians who vote through the tax rise on petrol every year. The only way that petrol prices will fall is if our leaders realise that we aren't going to let them get away with charging 80p tax for every litre of petrol. In the US, Congress is actually talking about cutting petrol tax to cushion the costs of high oil prices - that is because the politicians there realise that they will be booted out if they do nothing about it. We need to send the same message to ours. Summary: |
