Advantages: Higher (stable) oil prices mean the company I work for does better

Disadvantages: I can't afford to get to work!

I started car sharing with a colleague just under a year ago to save money - the price rises in the last year alone have severely damaged the savings I made!
Driving 500 miles a week to work, the current price of petrol is really hurting.
Although the recent price rises are driven by the oil companies, rather than the government, the petrol price is still predominantly tax!
I work in an company which supplies the oil industry - oil has had a bad time in the last 18 months and only now is the whole industry picking up again - some price rises are only to be expected.
While our petrol prices appear to have risen over the last 12-18 months, in the earlier part of this time, it was mainly a taxation-based rise, rather than an oil price rise.

I wouldn't object if the money was going back into the roads, but every day the jams get longer....
