The British are indeed being robbed. Our country is amongst the most expensive (I think Hong Kong is more expensive at the moment - but they just copied us!) for petrol but it doesn't have to be this way! Most of the price of petrol is simply tax to fund road users who decide not to pay their road tax or for foreign truckers to enjoy our nice ... Read the complete review

I origionally took my driving test a couple of years ago because I live just outside of town, it's about a half an hour walk but only takes around 4 minutes on the bus at a cost of £3.40. I live with my partner so when we both went to town it cost us £6.80 and as we went to town 6 days a week it was costing us too much money in bus fair which is ... Read the complete review

Ugh, what can we say about petrol prices other than that they are high and kill your wallet when you fill up? The world pretty much runs on petrol and fuel. We use it to heat our homes, drive our cars, operate machinery, transport goods, and many other causes. Rising costs of petrol increase the cost of just about everything else in ... I am not at all happy with the UK Petrol Prices at present. Although not at last years high of £1.20 a litre for unleaded, the average is still 99.99p a litre for unleaded. I always check my prices on www.petrolprices.com which tells me the cheapest garage in my area. Yesterday I was out with my family and I noticed the petrol gauge was quite low ... Over the last few years the Petrol Prices have been on an upwards slope, every constantly growing and growing, when over Christmas the prices (in my area of Warrington), were around £1.01 per litre, but there was a sudden drop in prices a couple of months back to 87.9p per litre, which was great for us as my husband has to use a car to get to ... Titled: Free gas passes for the over 65's --------------------------------------------------- UK Petrol - BP - Beyond Petroleum, better known as British Petroleum What on earth does 'Beyond Petroleum' actually mean? As many people will have noticed, the petrol prices are on the rise again, but then again it was only a matter of time. At leas they are not as high as they used to be. I remember when unleaded was £1.20 a litre, not in my area it is around £0.88 a litre, which is a vast improvement. It means roughly a £6 saving every time you top up £20. Other ... A POEM: Once I was a hard nosed bitch and travelled fast without a hitch but during those times when I was bad my fuel gauge dropped and I was sad So I read up on the internet and with renewed vigour I was set I threw out the seats and lost dead wood to drop the car weight like I ... I am livid to see that the prices are on the up again. We have a few stations situated near where I live and each week it seems to have crept up by another penny. In the run-up to Christmas I was thrilled to see them falling, this was one of the only financial highlights of last year! It seems that BP are intent on lining their pockets ... Generally prices reflect the value of something. In a market prices fluctuate according to the balance between supply and demand. The demand for oil is rapidly approaching the supply and eventually will be greater than the supply. Oil is not an infinite resource. Although you would think it was the way we have used it in ourlifetime. So of ... Read the complete review

The price of petrol at the moment in this country is disgusting. The rate it has boomed has been uncontrollable, yet it is still us, joe-public that are left to feel the full effects. I have a Peugoet 206 and it is fairly economical. However I know some people that are spending £35 a week on petrol! In my opinion figures like that are ... Read the complete review

The Joys Of Driving, Petrol Prices! After long last the petrol prices of the United Kingdom are beginning to fall quite dramatically but is it still too much? Through out 2008 the price of petrol was at an all time high exceeding £1.20 per litre at times all over the UK, a majority of which being tax. In 1995 petrol was sold ... Read the complete review

It used to be insurance companies that dictated what vehicle I drove. By refusing to insure some cars, and making others so expensive that I just could not afford to insure them, meant that I was forced to drive something that I didn't really want. Now I have a few more wrinkles and have aged, the insurance companies have relaxed their ... Read the complete review

Most normal working families are really feeling the pinch during the credit crunch. Now that we are going towards a recession, we have all been having to make cutbacks wherever we can. As inflation ensures prices rise, atleast the petrol rpices have comed own a good 20p in the last few months. The government encourage people to use public ... Read the complete review

So here we are in the 'credit crunch'. A time when people are 'feeling the pinch' and looking to cut costs at any corner. Yet, we all still need to get from A to B, and with public transport not getting any cheaper, or for many in rural areas, it is not frequently accessible, the car is still the number one choice for us. Now I know this will be a contraversial opinion, but hear me out! I have a degree in economics, and as I am sure you all are aware, most prices are related to demand/supply and i think more importantly in this case, price elasticity. The demand for petrol is always going to be high, until a reliable new fuel is ... Read the complete review

I find it quite sad really. I'm delighted petrol is now 97.9 at the local Morrison's, yet, 12 months ago this price alone would have been criminal. We've just got used to paying over the odds and now feel satisfied even though we are still being ripped off :( The drop in price almost feels too little too late, ... Read the complete review

While you're learning to drive you don't tend to take much notice of how much petrol costs because the car you're learning in is filled up or quite full every time you get into it for a lesson.. I'm 19 years of age and only currently work part time in a supermarket (still studying at college). Back in September 2007, after the 5th time of trying, I finally managed to pass the dreaded driving test and gain my full license at last.
