I was a promising runner in my youth and it was he lack of training facilities that made me try hard. Adversity is the real passion behind performance as we can see after the World athletics championships.It worked out that the two medals won by Jonathan Edwards and Dean Macey costs one and a half million each. The return was much greater for the Camelot handouts in the Sydney Olympics, but again down in track and field. When they talk of grants they mean freeing up the athlete to go full time. Firstly apologies, this is written from a track athlete's perspective, some of the terminology ignores field events, this isn't because I don't like them or am biased against them merely because I am used to speaking about myself and my events and so track athletics comes naturally. No offence meant. Originally I wrote: 'Once again I am writing this review and placing it in a category not truly suited to it.
