Viewing Houses

Newest Review: ... house that is right for you. You can register with agents for alerts when something new matching your needs comes on to the market, but I found most of these services to pretty useless, either taking ages to inform us of new houses, informing us of things we had already seen and rejected, or alerting us to houses that in no way matched the budget or criteria we specified. I found it better to instead do regular searches of the relevant agents' websites and rightmove.co.uk myself. 3) If you see something you like, be quick about arranging a viewing - if the house is desirable to you, you can bet it is desirable to other buyers as well. House hunting is not the most exciting activity in the world and can even be downright stressful, especially if you seem to be up against legions of psychic house hunters who always get to the good ones before you, or if you are a first time buyer in today's "difficult" market. I have had some experience of viewing houses (and flats) over the years - mostly as a renter, but more recently when I have been searching for a first home to buy. I have read research by Abbey that has found the average homebuyer spends just 96 minutes viewing properties before putting in an offer - that is apparently 43 minutes less than the average time we spend choosing our holiday ...  Read the complete review

So you are looking to buy a new house. You have the newspaper in front of you with all the listings of houses for sale. You have all the details for houses for sale from the estate agents. You are confused and dazed and dont know what to do next. The following is what helped me when buying a house and I hope it may help you a little too! 1. Place all the houses from both the newspaper and estate agents in front of you and pick out the houses within your price bracket and put the rest in the bin. It is that time of year again when For Sale boards spring up around everywhere. What is it about Spring that prompts some of us to want to move? Having bought and sold several houses over the years I feel more than competent to write about this topic, both from the point of view of the seller and the buyer. "IT'S NOT CONVENIENT" I remember twenty or so years ago when people could just turn up to look at a house that was for sale, without first making an appointment. Thank goodness those days are long gone! One time we had our house up for sale in winter and the pipes froze and we had a burst. Water came cascading down ...  Read the complete review

Ok so me and my boyfriend Dave are on our second week of viewing houses and it is going well but what we have found is that we will take a look at a house and think we have seen everything. Then we will walk away from it and immediately think of so many things that we wished we had asked or looked at. It is so important that when it comes to viewing houses you have a schedule and also it helps me when I know exactly what we are looking at and what to ask which I have learned from our very first viewing. I hope I help a few people who are just about to start out like I have so here I go. ----- Arranging viewings: Web ...  Read the complete review
