Advantages: Atmosphere, Decent people, Rugby League

Disadvantages: Grow old quickly lol

In 1998, Wakefield gained promotion into Super League. Into the promised land (well, the top division anyway) for the first time in years, back where they belong.

Since then being a fan has been one hell of a roller coaster ride, thats for sure.

The last two years we've been a relegation dogfight, and I think most Wakefield fans have aged 10 years in the last two as well.

What do we offer? Top flight rugby league - we sometimes play a blinder, and the best teams in the country come to visit us too. A good time - its all fairly entertaining, especially as a neutral spectator. Cheap beer in the supporters bar, and in real glass pint pots too! A fans shop where you can buy everything Wildcat. The chance to moan about the state of the club when we lose and the chance to praise the state of the club when we win.

We also offer a 99% family friendly atmosphere, although being a tough place in Yorkshire (LOL) you would get the odd bit of bad language, but mainly only on the terraces.

Rugby is a game that appeals to young and old alike. Its fast moving, exciting, and for the women out there, there are 26 fit young men on the pitch, all in shorts :):) Can't say better than that can we?

Currently, its the close seaon for Super League rugby league, so in some respects that it when clubs are most active. There's a lot of player swapping going on.

Wakefield though, are definately rated one of the worst teams in Super League, and I think thats unjustified, however that doesn't help us attract superb players year on year. We are struggling financially to compete in the league, and yet we are still signing players, and for the first time ever in SL, we are signing players on contracts that last more than 1 year.

We need stability and we are getting it at last. We have a coach who lovs this team, and who goes to great lengths to talk with fans, and a Chief executive who does the same and feels the
same.

Am I optimistic about the new season? Hell yeah!! I always am. I love my club and always will do. I will always support Wakefield Trinity. I have done for over 30 years and I will never change.

If you want to know more about Wakefield in the meantime then visit www.trinitywildcats.co.uk and you will get all the up to date info there is. Look out for me on the message board :) (my monicer there is 'sarsons')

PRICES IN THE GROUND

There are 3 admission prices for the ground, for each section of the ground. Currently, matchday admission is as follows:

Terracing £11 Adults, £6 Children and Concessions

East Stand Wings £12 Adults, £6 Children, £7 Concessions

East Stand Centre £13 all tickets, no concessions.

Match Programme is £2

Golden Gamble half price draw tickets (available at every professional or semi professional RL ground in the country) £1. Prize is 50% of the takings.

Pint of bitter £1.90, in a proper glass. I don't know how much lager, WKD etc etc is cos I don't buy the stuff. The bar is on the first floor of our Hospitality Suite, with the other 3 floors being given over to matchday sponsors, their guests, for catering, and one floor is used as the players bar after the match.

You can also buy the usual burgers and chips etc, at vans around the ground on match days, but I have never used them, but you would expect that thee prices are probably comparable to prices at similar sporting venues.

Of course you can buy season tickets.

Prices are:

Ground £135 (A), £60 O/S, £28 J, £260 F

East Stand Wings £140 A, £80 O/S, £60 J £280 F

East Stand Centre £165 A, £90 O/S, £70 J, £330 F

Each year the team in Super League keeps on changing. You can find up to date info on Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on the following web page: http://www.trinitywildcats.co.uk

Currently we have played a couple of "friendlies" before the season starts proper, and things do seem to be more positive this year. There is a buzz around the ground that hasn't been there for years. The players that we've signed seem to add to the squad, and there will be some new croud favourites this year - already Michael Korkardis and Matt Sears have made a good impression.

Go to Wakefield (2003 season now) and be cheered up or depressed depending how your team does. At the end of they day you'll get a warm welcome, and win or lose, we'd thank you for coming, whoever you support.

Enjoy your Rugby League - arguably the best game in the world :)

Roooaaarrrrrr with the Wildcats!

I've only ever been to one Rugby League game and really enjoyed it. It was at Sixfields, Northampton and part of the U21 World Cup. Go Wakefield!!!
