Being a bit of a sporty spice there aren't many sports that have passed me by whilst I've been at Uni....Water Polo is by far the best! Water Polo is kinda like football played with hands in a swimming pool??? Confused...well...there are two goals either end of the swimming pool and thirteen players on a team; only 7 in the pool at any one time, including a goal keeper. Water polo is a tough sport, but can appeal to anyone. It is brilliantly fun, and the pleasure of a successful shot from the halfway is unimaginable. Never gave water polo a thought? You should now. I think I would be correct in saying that water polo is a bit of an alternative sport. Quite a lot of people have played this game on holiday in the hotel swimming pool. I can't say that I have ever done this, but I have, however, played with real rules and a real team (not to put down 'hotel polo'). This is the toughest game I have ever played, 7 aside including a goal keeper. It is divided into 4 sets, each 7 minutes with a 3 mins interval. Player are not allowed to hold the balls with both hand except the goal keeper, the ball is not allowed to be submerge into the water as well. Players are not allowed to touch the floor in the pool nor hold on to the side of the pool as well, else it will be a foul and ball cahnges hand. Players except the goal keeper are not allow within 2 meter line of the goal post as well, or the ball change hand.
