Poor old George. Gone from the high life in Europe to having Noel and Liam Gallagher slating him for not scoring enough. THe one time footballer of the year has shown the class that won him the title but at the end of the day, he is well past his prime now and is at Man City to earn a bit of dosh. He has not really produced the goods or goals for City that every supporter was hoping for and shows the same qualities as Ian Rush did when he came to Wrexham to play out his swansong. Well I’m not sure about Weah, at least not for Manchester City. The Liberian Striker now into his 30’s has probably been Africa’s best ever footballer and was recruited by Joe Royle at the beginning of the season after he had had a loan spell at Chelsea. There is no doubt that Weah has talent, you need only look at his career to see that – remember the goals at AC Milan – remember that goal against Bari – yeah that was him. My opinion thought is that he’s not what Man City need. For me he’s lost a lot of that talent with age, even at Chelsea where plenty of chances were available he didn’t score ...  Read the complete review

Although Manchester City are allready a MASSIVE club, they simply confirmed this be signing George Weah, a player so old, he can actually remember the last time City won anything. At least he'll be at home, along with Ian 'Emily' Bishop, a player so old, he actaully played with Andy Grey during his at Everton. Now, no one can deny that Bob Taylor and Sean 'feed the' Goater would have made a deadly strike force that would give defenders sleepness nights, but is Weah really the player to keep the bitter blues in the premiership. Sure, about 27 years ago he was a truly world class player, but he has lots his pace, lost his edge, and quite frankly, he couldn't give a toss ...  Read the complete review

what city needed class! (109 words)

I think George Weah is a great addittion to the manchester city playing side, he is a quality striker, my only worry is that he may need to be rested at times. He has class, and can help the other striker's who can learn from the best. because he is good. It was unfortunate that he had to leave Chelsea but they had to many striker's but City I think have profited he is a player that can win matches, his only contribution can be a goal or a piece of magic. I still can't believe George Weah plays for city!!WOW ...  Read the complete review

George Weah: Georgie Weah (118 words)

What a coup for Manchester City ! signed on a free transfer from AC Milan via Stamford Bridge, Weah is one of my picks to shine this season. He is a former world footballer of the year and is a player of tremendous skill. Agile, athletic with a great mind for the game, one of the things that struck me whilst he was at Chelsea was his ability to work for the team, (sutton !), he will no doubt do this at City. What is more, he is a very down to earth chap who'll bring the other lads on leaps and bounds. Lets hope we see some wonder goals from him this season. ...  Read the complete review
