Too name the greatest ever moment at Wembley Stadium is an almost impossible task so I have taken the option of naming the greatest moment that I have witnessed at Wembley.

As a Crystal Palace supporter, I can say beyond doubt, that the greatest moment I have ever witnessed at Wembley was David Hopkin's last minuter winner for Crystal Palace against Sheffield United in the 1996/97 first division play-off final. The moment Hopkin's 20 yard effort curled into the top corner was a moment of sheer delight as Palace returned to the Premiership. This was all the more sweet after our defeat in the play-off final the previous year against Leicester after another last minute goal.

Running this moment a close second is Paul Gascoignes amazing goal against Scotland in Euro96. This was the only Euro 96 match that I attended but was one of the most memorable Wembley matches of recent times, and featured the goal of the tournament. When Gascoigne received the ball, flicked it over Colin Hendry's head, and volleyed it into the net Wembley errupted as the stadium witnessed probably the last 'great' Wembley goal before the reconstruction.
