Advantages: lovely ways to give the family a little treat
Disadvantages: cannot think of any
Redeeming Points once I have earned them usually takes some considerable thought, and mostly I spend my points on things for my family.
My first few times I used them on Amazon for DVD selections that my son or hubby wanted, I bought one or two for myself too. After that I received a cheque for £50 which helped for a holiday, and the latest one I put towards a chainsaw for hubby to help him set up his logging business. It also helps us as far as firewood for the winter goes too. All good as far as I am concerned.
I am now saving my next lot of points as I want to get a new TV as ours blew up just before Christmas, so this will help a little towards that end.
I know a lot of people put their points to more noble ends like to charities. Which is also a good use for the points.
I have to use my points for things I think we could use as we are on such a tight budget and these little perks help spice things up a little and give us all a little pleasure when things start to look a bit grim.
I have enjoyed writing for dooyoo and will continue all the while I am able.
I hope this gives others an insight into my little world and for those on budgets like mine a little hope that with a well written piece you can make a bit of a difference to an other wise mundane way of life, especially now the recession has hit us all so hard.
Summary: great fun to write to earn those points and then give a little something to the ones you love
