I have been fascinated to read what other members are doing with their earnings from Dooyoo, from small things like finally completing film collections to big things like saving for major purchases. I thought I would share mine with you as for me this really did come as a bit of a lucky break.

Basically late last year my debt problems were getting pretty out of control and I had no choice but to write to all my creditors offering reduced payments until I could get myself straight. A lot of this is old student debt which I suddenly was earning too much (by £50 a month!) to defer any longer, this meant that suddenly I had to start paying back an extra £200 a month when I barely have anything left anyway.

So, I was starting to have to cut back on all the nice things in life that I love like books and films and cds, all of that just had to stop. I am studying for an MBA and whilst my employers pay the fees I have to cover the books myself, most of the core books are anywhere between £30-50 a time and whilst the library does keep copies they are usually out with a waiting list, from experience I have found that I use the books I have bought for more than just the module they were essential for so they are a good investment - just an expensive one.

When I discovered Dooyoo I was over the moon as this gave me an opportunity to earn the cash to buy the books I need without having to go without something else to afford it. Writing has always been an absolute joy for me and i'm used to writing reviews so it was hardly a chore. I do worry sometimes about being accused of 'churning' (never have I seen the word used so much anywhere as it is on here!) because sometimes I might write a number of reviews on the same day if I am on a bit of a roll. Then again sometimes I might go days without writing any.

People on here seem generally lovely and nothing beats the feeling of reading positive comments and ratings from people, I have also learned a great deal from reading other peoples reviews - I have rented films I wouldn't have previously considered and read books I wouldn't have thought were my cup of tea, I also think that the recipes are amazing! I do think my reviews are of a quality that I deserve to earn the miles for so in that respect I would hope people never think I churn, I put care, effort and thought into every review I write.

So far my plan is working and I have managed to buy the two core text books I need for this semester, I felt so elated when the first one arrived because I really felt like I had earned it. Now my core texts are covered I have the chance to think about what I would like to do with the next miles I earn and I have a few ideas. I think I will continue to get them as amazon vouchers as that way they wont just disappear on everyday essentials, I would love to buy a new camera and so that will probably be what I aim for next - the bonus is I can check all the reviews on here once I have an idea which one to go for.

I am still quite a newbie to Dooyoo but I already love this site and the opportunities it has given me, for the first time I also really do feel like part of a community and thats an added bonus. I do worry that they might change things, in terms of earnings, but I hope not. Long may the good times continue!
