Advantages: Good rewards for time spent writing a decent review
Disadvantages: Reviewing distracts me from my real job
What I love most about Dooyoo (honest) is the chance to vent and to be able to freely express my honest opinion on products, concepts and discussions and to engage with others (even if they're disagreeing with me!) I work in the wonderful world of libraries and it's frankly very boring. Being able to come home and bash around some ideas with people that aren't about journals or re-sizing pictures for our website is a welcome change.
My earnings (long may they grow) are used to supplement the budget I set myself for buying gifts for family members, especially my supportive and loving Girlfriend. This is the first year I've budgeted properly and also less than a year since I came down to London. If you don't budget, sit down and look at what you actually spend on gifts and the like - it's terrifying!
Particular highlights where Dooyoo have helped me fund purchases to date have been GHD straighteners for aforementioned wonderful girlfriend (£20 out of the ~£100 covered) and another £20 taken off the complete X-Files box set (a 60+ DVD monster that will be wheeled out of the dark cupboard in October to her surprise and delight)..
I'm even considering saving up some points to get myself some prezzies and my fellow Dooyoo'ers will no doubt be pleased to know that there's a stack of good quality music and novels sitting unpurchased in my Amazon wish list. If I'm lucky and do decide to buy any of it I'll no doubt be back to review it minutes later - which is very much the nature of the beast.
In all honesty, I've never considered saving up for a cheque, as I have a bunch of very thoughtful relatives who are always happy to provide ideas that can be purchased on Amazon. Thanks, in part, to Dooyoo I get to look like a thoughtful son and brother come Birthday and Christmas time. This is of particular importance to me as I don't see my family very often as they're in Scotland/the north east. So Dooyoo makes it just a little bit easier for me to let my family know that I'm still thinking about them, no matter where I live.
Summary: Dooyoo rewards are great for topping up my gifts budget
