What do you spend your dooyoo earnings on?

I'm unemployed at the moment, with a daugher in school . As a result, I currently live in benefits while looking for a job . And its enough to live on , but doesn't allow for much in the way of treats .

Particular times of year are more of a struggle than others - family birthdays and christmas stretch my already tight budget. I do a lot of saving up through the year - for example, I put away a few pounds a week towards a christmas hamper, and I also deposit a few pounds each week into a post office saving scheme that will give me a card or vouchers near christmas to spend .

But still, the little extra that comes in on dooyoo is immensely helpful. So far, in my time here, I've earned 164685 miles . Thats a little under 165 pounds, money I wouldn't have had otherwise, and I've earned that purely through blathering on about whatever I've been eating/reading/watching lately.

The advantage with dooyoo is that I can get paid in Amazon vouchers, and amzons is a great site to buy little presents from - books, dvd's, music . I also like that I can build up a wish list through the year, and often when I read a review on Dooyoo, I'll think 'Hmmm, Dad would enjoy that' and add it to my wishlist, so that when his birthday draws near, I'm not struggling for gift ideas .

Occasionally, I treat myself too. I don't do so very often, but once every two or three months I'll cash in my miles and buy myself a good book to read. I love reading, and mainly buy books from charity shops as it's the only way to keep my book addiction fed at a low price . Occasionally though, a book comes out that I don;t want to hunt for in charity shops - most recently, the Twilight series of books have been chewing up my miles . I don't mind though - that 7 quid I spend on a book on amazon is 7 pounds more left in my pocket .

I actually find that when I'm saving for something in particular, I'll write more, almost writing to a target . For example, each october, I'll start trying to be more active in order to save some miles for christmas . Its not as simple as that though - I can only review things I know about, and sometimes, I just can't think of anything, or when I do, I just can't get up the enthusiasm .

But, thanks to dooyoo, I'm always able to have a few extra pounds at christmas to spend on some gifts for family - and the great thing is, since they're stored on the internet, and I never turn them into real money, I'll never do what I normally do and just spend it on food or silly stuff . They're saved, and they always go into something myself or a family member will enjoy .

Dooyoo - my very favourite christmas savings club!
