Advantages: Holds everything I need it to

Disadvantages: It's not very elegant for a night out

I have quite a few handbags because I buy most of them in charity shops. The one I use the most was a birthday present from my husband and it's my favourite. It's soft black leather with white stitching, plenty of shiny buckles, two huge main compartments and a smaller central one. It has two handles which are long enough to go over my shoulder. Hanging from one of the zip tags is a mobile phone charm Forever Friends teddy and a tiny red diamante handbag that were presents. On another zip tag is another charm which has two tiny purple leather flowers on it.

One of the main compartments holds my purse which contains cash, my dental appointment cards, my supermarket trolley token, my cards such as phone top-up, RAC, debit cards, Co-op divi card (I don't use supermarket loyalty cards because you get targeted with junk mail; the Co-op card just rewards you with very good dividends twice a year and no junk mail), blood donor card and various receipts which need sorting through.

There is a wallet which holds my driving licence and my Christmas and birthday present list, some cuttings from newspapers recommending books I am on the lookout for, a small Filofax organiser and a calendar that was free from the Halifax bank. The other side holds two fold-away shopping bags so that I can avoid using carrier bags, my sunglasses, my mobile phone, a packet of tissues and some hand gel for when I get caught short and have to use a public loo. It's great stuff because it dries on your hands. I also have some lip salve, a lip gloss, a bottle of water, a small pack of wetwipes and some handcream.

The middle part contains spare car and house keys, my cheque book, which rarely gets used these days, my hairbrush and a copy of 'To Kill a Mocking Bird' by Harper Lee just in case I get stuck in traffic. I also have a whistle (my husband insisted on that in case I need help!), some keys to something I have forgotten about and some pens.

I think that's all but there's plenty of room for more stuff and I can fold the newspaper up and squeeze that in there as well as an umbrella when necessary. Most of my handbags limit how much I can carry which is why this particular one is my favourite.

Summary: My favourite bag of all time
