Advantages: voluminous
Disadvantages: dodgy zips
My bag is just a plain old rucksack from ebay. I have no handbag as such, simply because I cycle everywhere and a handbag would be absolutely no good to me. I am not environmentally friendly, really, I just can't drive - and seeing the way the roads are today, it's quite a relief to me! I try to keep to the pavement!
My bag has only two compartments, a small one with two zips at the front and a larger (main) one at the main part of the bag. I shove absolutely everything into it.
It is red, black and grey and has double zips on each compartment - one of which I broke within two days of having it, my husband will tell you I am rather rough with my rucksack and use it for all manner of things, namely to shove all my on-the-way-home supermarket shopping in after work....so it can hold a bottle of juice, a loaf, etc., etc.....but sooner or later the zips go...so its my fourth bag this year! Thank heaven for ebay!
In the front compartment, I have a brush, some body spray (Boots Pretty) and sunglasses (which are really handy in the winter, I don't think!) and a small packet of pocket hankies....none used, though!
In the main compartment, I have my crumpled provisional driving licence...which I fear is destined to never become full....I simply cannot afford driving lessons, nor a car! I also have a spiral bound notebook and pen stuck through the spirals, which I use to write my shopping lists....usually my two children help me with this when we are making dinner....I go into cupboards and shout out what we need, and they write them down, then its a relatively simple job (ha ha) to decipher their handwriting when i am in the supermarket, to buy what we need.
The only other thing I carry always is my purse, large, black and with pics of my children and hubby and lots of cards, and very little money.....and of course the inevitable money off coupons, too. It was a purse I bought for 50p at a boot sale over four years ago....and its still going strong.
Can you tell I love a bargain? I enjoyed taking you on a trip down memory lane....maybe I might get more organised in 2009, who knows?
Summary: backpackers delight
