Advantages: got all I need
Disadvantages: my bag gets messy
Obviously I don't have a handbag being male, but I do have a little rucksack that I carry with me, mainly for when I go to work or have the children with me. This is what my little rucksack contains and what I can't do without in it.
Firstly my keys, these have my house keys, car keys and work keys on them so easily the most important thing in my bag. If I don't have these or lose them I'm totally stuffed. My keys are a massive bundle, people often laugh at the size of them and ask me if I work in a prison! On my keys I have one of those universal trolley coins which slot in the trolley's if you need to put a £1 coin in. My wife calls me Roy cropper but my argument is if you don't have any cash and you need a pound coin for a trolley you already have one, hassle free!
Next is of course my wallet, this has all my cards in including bank cards, driving licence, Tesco clubcard, and Block buster Card. I don't tend to carry much cash as I find if I have it I will spend it like water, the odd drink, sandwich or chocolate bar. If I haven't got it I can't spend it and it's much better for my waistline!
I always have mints or chewing gum; I do like to chew some gum after I've eaten or to suck a mint. It's not really practical to carry your toothbrush and toothpaste with you so I feel that's the next best thing. Also I feel it's really important to have nice fresh breath there is nothing worse than speaking to someone with halitosis!
As well as my mouth smelling nice I myself like to smell clean and fresh, next to bad breath BO is next on the list awful. I like to wear roll on as well as spray deodorant to give me double protection. I know then that I can always smell fresh not of onions and pasties!
My mobile is always in my bag, but to be honest I don't find it high on my priorities as I hate using mobiles, I just like to use mine for emergencies really. I hate texting it's easier in my opinion to pick up the phone; calls can be so expensive from mobiles so to me it's wasting money. We have a phone at work which is free so I use this and my wife phones me on this number in case she needs me; my mobile is just a back up.
I always carry a drink around, it's normally water, I do find that I get a really dry mouth and hate to be caught short and not have a drink to hand. I really hate to pay the prices they charge in the shops for a simple bottle of water it really is scandalous, I tend to use the same bottle and re fill it from the tap (every little helps)
I normally have some tissues in my bag, I don't know why but I have always suffered with colds and sinus problems so am always in need of a tissue. I like to use the soft balsam ones so I don't get a big red sore nose, so toilet tissue from the toilets just don't do the job!
My diary is always in my bag whether I use it is a different story! My wife is always telling me I need to be more organised so this is my way of trying. I do put important dates or meetings in it but often I forget to look in it!
I normally have a few of the children's things lurking at the bottom of my bag which I put in there when I'm taking them out. This is often wet wipes and a nappy for my little lad whose 19 months and these are often accompanied by a dummy. Half a packet of sweets are normally at the bottom which my 6 year old girl who hasn't finished which of course I normally finish!
That completes my bag apart from the rubbish of receipts, old payslips, flyers, rubbish from the kids and old tissue's (nice I know!) that's what's in my bag what's in yours?!
Summary: you never know what you will need
