Advantages: Holds a lot of useful stuff.

Disadvantages: No bunnies!

Firstly, a word about my bag (or bags, since I have more than one):

All my handbags tend to be small to medium size ones.
This is primarily because I am petite, and I like accessories to be proportional.
That trend from a year or two back, of carrying oversized handbags? - No, just NO.
Also, given my natural hoarding tendencies, if I had a big handbag it is likely I would end up carrying half my bodyweight in stuff I don't need but felt like keeping.

So my handbag is quite compact, and yet, it holds a surprisingly amount of things for its size.

~ The Basics ~

- House keys: To get into my house.

- Oyster card: A must, when in London and taking public transport, really.

- Loose change: I do have a wallet, but it's so pretty and new, I don't want to squash it in my bag or put dirty money in it.
So I leave it on my desk where I can appreciate its delicate beauty, and just keep the cash in my handbag's inner pocket.

- Bank cards. I keep them together with the Oyster card, since my new wallet is purely ornamental.

~ The Useful ~

- MP3 Player: I hardly know how to commute without being able to listen to my favorite songs.
I do need to get some new, comfortable earphones though, as the ones that came with my mp3 player are veritable instruments of torture.

- Paper and pen: Usually I have a list of "things to do" or "things to buy".
I also like to have paper where I can write any notes I may feel necessary throughout the day.

- Magazine/Book: Another very helpful weapon in the fight against the drudgery of public trasportation.
I usually have a magazine, sometimes a pocketbook (Penguin Classics FTW!).
Right now I have a copy of ES, the Evening Standard's magazine, for some reason (I didn't buy the newspaper).

- Mobile phone: Very good and very useful. Except when someone calls at an inconvenient time or place.

- Alcohol-based hand gel: To sanitise hands - sometimes a necessity, considering the amount of things and people we come into contact with every day.

- Hairbands: I have long hair, so these are indispensable on windy days, or for when I am doing something and don't want my hair getting in the way.

- Compact brush: Again, with long hair, something that is very handy.

- Compact mirror: Sometimes, is good to take a look at oneself.

- Packet of tissues: There are so many instances when they may be required, to wipe and dry something or other.

- Moisturiser: Right now it is Olay's Complete Care Daily UV Fluid SPF15.

- Lipgloss: I wear very little makeup, as I prefer a natural look, so lipgloss is the one thing I usually take with me.

- Bottle of Water: This is a new addition, as I used to think a bottle full of water would weigh me down and was not worth carrying.
But I find that taking regular sips of water during the day, and not waiting until I am almost dehydrated to drink makes me feel better overall, so I take it with me now.

~ The Beautiful ~

- Some magazine clips of baby animals (a golden retriever licking a baby deer and a puppy). They are a bit creased, but still exceedingly cute.

- Tiny troll: I have had this little doll since I was 12. The body is less than an inch tall, but it has a 1.5 inch tuft of bright pink hair sprouting from its head.
It is very cute, with its arms wide open as if it is asking for a hug and the expression on its face always makes me smile.
I have no idea what it's doing in my handbag, though... It is usually in a drawer on my bedside cabinet.

------ // -----

So these are the contents of my handbag, at the moment.
According to the laws of physics, they should not all fit into such a small space, but some how they do.

Thanks for reading.

Summary: My concrete jungle survival kit.

hehe. I like your review it's very funny. I especially like the fact that everyone seems to have a mary poppins hand bag. One which seems so small but contains so much. On one occasional I've even put sandels in my bag as I knew I would be dancing all night and wouldn't be able to walk in high heels.

The wallet remarks made me giggle.
I needlessly carry around 3 different types of money holding device so as not to ruin a new wallet lol x
