What's In Your Bag?
Advantages: Has everything I need
Disadvantages: Lose things in the bottomless pit
Before I had my son, I was one of those girls who used to choose a bag that match her outfit and carried as little around with me as possible. This was usually no more than keys, money and my phone, and in some cases I would take my card and money out of my purse just so I could fit it in the bag I wanted.
Now though I am a mum, and what mums carry around in there bags depends on the age of your child. My son is 3 now, so I am thankfully done with the nappies, change of clothes and milk.
I can't go anywhere without having a packet of wipes in my bag, I usually carry a pack of baby wipes with me but recently as my son has been helping me do the shopping I tend to have a packet of those toiletry wipes that have characters on the front, that are scented. Wipes are a must have, it may be for cleaning, tiny hands or a messy face, but I also find it handy when out for a meal to take off that greasy feeling that napkins can't, for wiping a table or for use in the toilet with my little boy, or for cleaning dirty marks left on my clothes after m son has cuddled in before wiping his face.
My phone, can anyone go anywhere without their phone anymore?
My purse with all my loyality cards for just about every store I've ever shopped in, bank cards etc, and some loose change, either for something from the ice cream van or one of those machines kids love to ride on, I didn't have change on me once when my son wanted to ride on a banana and pjs ride and he got so upset I promised myself I wouldn't put him, myself, or all the shoppers around through that tantrum again.
Keys, I would be in a bit of trouble if I didn't carry those around with me.
Tissues, for all the snot filled noses a mum has to deal with. Also I tend to get the sniffles alot too.
Make up, not everyhting just some lip gloss and mascara to have that top up half way through the day.
Face wipes, although I tend not to use them when I am out, I like knowing that they are there just on the off chance I end up stranded somewhere or staying overnight somewhere, I can have that fresh face feeling.
I have one of those emergency nail files on my keys so whenever I break a nail its there, I hate having sharp broken nails, so I rarely go anywhere without it.
Headphones, I love music, and have music on my phone so carry these around with me so I can listen to music whenever I get the chance.
A pen, I need a pen every day for work, so I carry one in my bag incase there isn't any there or the pen thief has been at it again, plus when out someone always needs a pen. Plus I have a cute little keyring pen incase the other pen goes missing.
I also have started having to carry around my son's passport, as he is fairly big for his age and people struggle to believe me that he is only 3 and as alot of places charge for 5 or over I get asked quite oftend how old he is.
A fruit shoot and a snack, I always carry this around with me as I find my son always wants a drink and a snck when out and I grudge paying through the roof for something I have at home, this way he gets what he wants without paying through the roof for it.
Pay slips and receipts, I try my best not to keep these in my bag but I always just chuck them in there and forget about them, I try to have a little bag clear out once a week or so.
Gum, I try to always have gum in my bag, I hate to have that dirty feeling on my teeth.
Pain Killers, although I tend not to need them much, I find them a handy thing to have on me just incase, plus its one of those things that people always seem to need.
My bag itself is like a bottomless pit, I am forever thinking I have lost something or spend ages trying to find things, but I know its there and I wouldn't have it any other way. Plus I have many different colours and styles of bags that all do the same job so I can still match my outfit.
Summary: Everything thing I need for me and my son.
