Advantages: My bag is now empty and clean!
Disadvantages: I learned that I hoard a lot of useless stuff in my bag.
I was going through my bag earlier trying to find a pen, and having seen this category on the discussion section of DooYoo, I thought it might be interesting if I was to actually answer the question here while I sort through it!
So, the first thing in my bag that I pull out is my purse. Unfortunately, it's empty. I always keep my purse in there even if it is empty though, which I probably shouldn't do, but if I take it out it only ends up getting lost so it makes a lot more sense to leave it there.
The next thing - or bunch of things, I should say - is a rather overly large selection of receipts. For some reason they tend to just accumulate in there for no apparent reason, just to remind me I bought that useless item, or that I really did spend £40 on the weekly shop again.
The next thing that I pull out of my bag is my keys, which really should have been closer to the top of the bag rather than hidden beneath all of those receipts, but I suppose they're heavier and so they fall to the bottom. Attached to the keys (which consist of a locker key, my house keys and a padlock key for something or other) there is a selection of keyrings, ranging from a torch powered by the sun (not that they see the sun very often), a keyring with my name on it that my mother bought me and a scoobie thing, only made out of string rather than plastic like they are traditionally made of. My keys are quite colourful, I must admit.
Next, I pulled out a couple of vouchers for products I don't use (which was why they ended up being left to rot in the bottom of my bag, I suppose) and another receipt that was around them like some sort of protective shield.
Next, I found a tub of vaseline rosy lip balm (which I may actually write a review on later!). It's fairly well used, given that I've had it for about 18 months now, and it's probably getting somewhere near it's use by date, I would imagine, but I hate waste and it still seems to be okay to use at the moment.
Beside the lip balm, I found an empty canister of dove deodorant. I wondered where that had gone. At least I know now though, I suppose! Again, I may end up reviewing that as well some time.
And the final thing to come out of my bag was - yes, you've guessed it - a pen. The pen I was looking for in the first place. It's always at the bottom, buried by everything else, and the only way to help it re-surface is to completely clean out your bag.
I really should do that more often.
Well, I hope you got something out of reading that, although I admit it was probably pretty boring to read. Thanks for reading it anyway though!
Summary: Yay! A clean bag now!
