Advantages: Lots to choose from.
Disadvantages: Embarassing amount of stuff- only a fraction of what I own is listed here...!
I love the person who put this question up on Dooyoo! I love my make-up and can talk and talk and talk about it for...a very long time!
OK, the first thing is that I don't just have 1 make-up bag. I have three. And then I also have a pocket in most of my bags (normally the one for mobile phones or wallets) where I also seem to hide my make-up. I love putting make-up on, I own enough to start of a small shop and I vary what I wear with what bag I carry, what I am doing that day or how inspired I feel.
Today, (Wednesday) I went to the gym. I left home in a hurry and took what I think was the smallest amount of make-up with me for years: I took a mini mascara from Clinique (given away free with purchase, a year ago!) and a cheek gloss by Rubie and Millie. I think my skin looks pretty healthy after I have had a work out and washed, exfoliated and applied a moisturiser. The gloss applies very easily and looks fab on pale skin. I love this gloss! In my gym wash-bag was a freebie by Origins (Dermabrasion exfoliant) and a deluxe sample of Niveas DNAge among other things.
Tomorrow, (Thursday) I will be bringing much much more. I have a 2 hour journey across London (In fact, it takes the same time to travel to Brighton and back, but that's London Transport for you)! and am likely to become very very bored on it. I think applying make-up is something to do as oppose to staring out the window.
Tomorrow I am packing... my Max Factor Miracle Touch compact, very easy to apply unfortunately does not say on long but does give a very smooth even coverage.
My YSL Touch Eclait. Fantastic product. Not as dense as I would like it, but I think its more of a highlighting product (to brighten up dull dark spaces like under my eyes or around my nose) rather then a concealer which is what I first thought it was.
My Stila convertible Colour. Basicly THE BEST cheek cover going. Looks excellent, applies like a dream, and has a mirror which none of my other products do.
My Bonjours Clubbing brown eyeliner. Excellent product. Easy to apply, very fine point.
My No.7 brow colour.
My Maybelline Colossal Mascara. Its the one in the yellow tube. I an warming to this.
I may decide to bring eyeshadow, but not sure on the colour as yet. Could be a bright Body Shop colour (yellow and bronze in which case I would also pack a bronze eyeliner by No.7), could be Chanel Ombre- quad set, (in which case I would need to add my Benefit ceaseless eyeshadow (in pink) or could be just plain shimmery beige (by maybelline). Depends how I feel on the day and what I am wearing.
I will again, change what I use on Friday. I am at the gym but don't do classes as there are none worth doing so don't tend to do much with my make-up- plain plain plain. It will remain the case for the entire weekend as I am also at the gym Saturday and Sunday.
I'll probably switch to the Maybelline Dream Matte mousse as its easy to apply without a mirror- you just apply it as if it were moisturiser, and blend it in, then your good to go. Its so easy, no mirror is required! Then load on some Clinique Definicles mascara before I leave my flat. I will take the make-up bag that's left over in which ever sports bag I choose and stupidly forget I don't need to carry it all with me! It will remain in my bag the whole weekend and then Monday, change of bag, change of products.
I am not at the gym Monday so am normally able to get away with wearing red or orange on my eyes without freaking the other gym members out too much! (Not a good look after/during exerting yourself on the treadmill, I end up looking like I have murdered someone in some frantic pit-bull style attack!). I will need some make-up for when I leave the gym, hence a make-up bag living in my gym bag. I will take similar stuff to Monday.
Tuesday it a day when I intend to apply my make-up before I leave, but rarely get enough time to! I then stuff into my bag the Max Factor Miracle Touch foundation, Max factor lash extensions mascara and Stila convertible colour (for the fact I need a mirror). I then apply on-the-go!
I have other things I would like to add to my make-up bag, but have a pact with myself to not buy any more make-up this year! (make-up box too full!) but what I really want is a Mac eyeshadow in Orange, Maybelline liquid foundation (the new one with minerals or something in it) and a Dior Show waterproof mascara in black/brown. I also would love a new Chanel eyeshadow set in Rose (pinks), a pen-eye-liner...sigh...
Summary: I own too much make-up to explain!
