Why is it something seems to happen to us, almost overnight, on the day of our 13th birthday? I'm sure lots of you remember Harry Enfield as Kevin turning in the space of a few moments (American Werewolf in London style) from a compliant, genial young boy into an obstreperous, surly, grunting monster with an attitude they wouldn't even allow in hell. What went wrong? Well, he became a teenager!
