I must admit I'm not a tennis fan in any way and find the game to limited in skill and variation to interest me or have me jumping off my chair. British working class kids don't want to play tennis, as simple as, just as British Asian boys don't aspire to play professional football in the Premier League, going for cricket instead. It's a cultural thing, kids playing the sports that make their parents happy. We should not worry about not having any decent tennis players in the United Kingdom. Tennis is for posh kids and if it doesn't work out then university will save the day. The fact we fired Brad Gilbert today, some say the best coach there is in the sport, suggest there is noone who can produce a Wimbledon singles champion out of a British player. I must say that I have been very impressed with the start Andy Murray has made at Wimbledon this year. Still, it is really important in my opinion to give the Scot some space and i hope the press don't blow his performances out of all proportion. He played brilliantly against Andy Roddick, but lets face it Federer beats Roddick every year here, so for Murray the hard work is still to come. I think in two/three years time Murray may well have the game, composure and mental capacity to win Wimbledon - as well as the fact that Federer will be getting older, probably training less and if he starts a family then tennis will mean less. Goran Ivanisevic is one of the greatest characters you could ever wish to meet, and I want to know why he hasn’t won Wimbledon. He has two faces like a coin at one time he’s up for the game, and other times he’s down, gets angry and throws his racquet around. He is a great grass court player mainly because of his deadly weapon, the serve that recorded him 41 aces in his one match against Andy Roddick.
