"Who's Going to Win the "Next Gen" War?"Newest Review: ... that until broadband becomes more widespread; this market would not be attainable. Also the X-box will have to compete with a deeply entrenched PC gaming market for the online g amers. On the other hand, the inclusion of a hard drive with the X-Box does make it more attractive as an Internet Appliance than the ... more |

Why have Microsoft decided to enter the console market? 1. Microsoft wanted a proportion of the £20 billion worldwide console market. 2. Microsoft had a desire to still expand further. 3. Microsoft was hoping to gain a large market share due to its built-in Internet capabilities, superior sound and graphics. Can X-box achieve these goals and beat rivals Sony and Nintendo? Microsoft has several billions of spare cash to invest, and investing it into the console market/X-box does several things. It gives Microsoft the opportunity to undercut a competitor in an area in which it doesn’t have a monopoly by feeding money ... Read the complete review

It's been announced that on April 26th, the X Box will have a price reduction of £100, bring the price down to £199. Now, not only is this a big drop so soon, it's bound to feel early developers of the system more than a bit miffed - I know I certainly would be. The reason for the sudden announcement must surely lie squarely at the dissapointing sales throughout Europe. Great machine or not, for many people a price of £300 is still a lot of money. These opinon crop up all the time, "my console is better than yours", I’m not about to sit and complain about people doing that considering im a prime culprit of such mud slinging but what I do despise about those posts is the biased approach to them. If I write a Console War opinion, everyone will know even before clicking on it that I will pretend to be fair but Nintendo will ultimately win. So how can I avoid such Bias? Well by writing one of these opinions without mentioning Nintendo so I entitle this opinion. Microsoft Vs. Sony Lets face it this has been a storming year for Sony, the only competition their next gen ... Read the complete review

When it comes to the future of gaming I expertise especially when it involves Nintendo. Sadly offering you a balanced opinion and offering you both sides of the argument is both something I can't do and boring so here I will write why it should be Nintendo whom should triumph above the rest. The N64 had problems yes it was a good system with stunning titles from Nintendo and it's 2nd party developers particularly RARE so with this awesome strength the console why did it cower in the shadow of the Playstation? Simple the Playstation appealed to 3rd party developers they are people who develop for all systems and the N64 wasn't just hard to work on but ... Read the complete review

Ok, a different slant on this topic. I don't care who wins the next-gen console wars. It doesn't matter. The consoles don't matter, it isn't about the consoles, the console is merely a tool. Confused? Good. The consoles no longer matter. You can buy any one you like and it will not change things. When you buy a console you are buying the rights to exclusive games, a writ if you like. Buying a console is merely a way of securing your right to by that Nintendo exclusive Zelda game, or get Final Fantasy X first if you buy a PS2. This isn’t console wars…It’s the war of the games. Come this time next year ... Read the complete review
