What a great surprise to see Alain Baxter on the podium of Alpine Skiing Olympics! Not really a traditional english sport, an historical Bronze Medal for Baxter but.... Premium Review Figure Skating Scandal! (183 words)

I really enjoyed the Winter Olympics, and the highlights for me were definitely the figure skating events. It's not usually talked about much, probably due to the lack of British skaters, but with the scandal in the pairs event, it was propelled into the spotlight, even making it on to the news. It was great in a way, because skating will perhaps get more recognition now. But also I did feel very bad for the Canadian skaters. I just want to say this, if they want to check the red blood cell count of all the Russian skiers they ought to take a white blood cell count of all the North American "men's" skaters. That might be interesting. This was the worst Olympics ever. Of course the United States won a bunch of medals, like duh, if you keep on adding events someone is going to medal in them. But when as a nation we ...  Read the complete review

Why do we bother with the Olympics (135 words)

This may sound like a very negative opinion, but why do we need the Olympics? Many people argue it gives the chance for many countries to unite behind a single cause. But with much of the bad press about the Olympics for quite some years now. Isn't time we ditched it? It seems to have lost it's prestige with stories of drug taking and officials putting pressure on the Judges to fix results in another countries favour. Take for example when Alex Coomber was interviewed in the studio, she admitted that one of the officials had told her that she had won the only medal available to a Non American. What sort of spirit is this? Unfortunately, there ...  Read the complete review
