Well considering i am a real tom boy and last year at university i had to share halls with four total feminine girly house mates i have seen some movies which were so bad that they would make the hairs stand up on any sci fi nuts neck.

One that comes directly to mind is "the social climber" i don't even know what it was about i decided to read geographies of exclusion instead because i thought my brain cells were rapidly dropping in number by watching it. I presume it was about the girls in high school which base everything on fashion and outside appearance after they get a job, but it had no real plot or character development in my opinion, so i would not recommend watching it.
Secondly the Christmas release of the film based on the book northern lights was extremely disappointing, i think they re- entitled it "the golden compass", the actress they chose for the main protagonist wasnt the gutsy rough little girl from the book and was annoying at best, and i didnt think the casting for the other characters was really appropriate either.

Just because this movie had an all star cast and extremely advanced computer graphics and effects did not make it a good movie.

They turned Phillip Pullmans dark arts into some sort of Disney esc movie, the film company edited out crucial plot structures which made the film jump between scenes for no apparent reason.

What i was particularly annoyed at was the ending though, it ended on a positive not of everything will be all right now, where as the book ended up on a very dark and philosophical note.

However i wont give that away in case you have not read the book or actually liked the film.

Personally though i found it an extreme disappointment.

Summary: cinematic effects dont make a difference to bad plot and character development

You make your point, but I think this could be more clearly written - the second paragraph is particular is a bit vague. As a university student, you should be used to writing clearly, so try and bring this experience to dooyoo - try writing offline to give yourself more time and to spell check your review, then cut & paste it into dooyoo. Book and film titles can be made clearer to your reader by capitalisation or using ". :-)
