Advantages: Umm...
Disadvantages: Some overrated, others just damn well annoying,
Where do I start? I get to rant about all the things that annoy me (this is going to be a long review), should I do films, worst songs, worst bands, overrated bands, songs that are the worst because you hate the band/artist it is by, and hate yourself for singing along. How about worst sayings? I can think of a few of them too. "The best thing since sliced bread". What?! Not the computer, not cars, not Johnny Depp. Nope. Sliced bread is our biggest achievment.
O..K.. I'll get on with the review...
Starting off with another of the worst sayings..
*** "Yuck, this is disgusting, taste it!"
I'm not sure if this is classed as a 'saying', but everyone says it!
Now.. Ummm....could someone please explain to me why I would want to taste something that you have just told me is rank (for want of a better word)? Help me out here, does that make sense?
And there are more..
*** "No offence, but.."
How much has that saying helped people out, huh? I mean, you really can get away with saying pretty much almost anything so long as you say "no offence" before it. Amazing. I've never tried it, but I wonder if you could get away with telling Brad Pitt (OK, so I hate him) that he is an arrogant, boring prat, so long as you softened the blow with "no offence" before it? I do think people should try, you can even leave out the no offence part if you wish. *grin*
It doesn't end there...
*** "money can't buy you love"
Yes, it can.
If Brad Pitt (sorry for going on about him) were to have plastic surgery to make himself look like Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day, take some classes to get himself a personality, and buy me loads of shoes, I would love him. Money CAN buy you love!
"so I turned around and said, blah blah blah , and then he turned around and said yada yada ya" is another one. Do people stand with their backs to each other when having a conversation? Face each other and have a proper conversation! All this 'turning around' is making me dizzy.
Now I've got the worst sayings out of the way, how about the worst songs by a band/artist you hate? The worst because you enjoy hating them, and then they decide to come along with a good song, which you then get caught singing along to with your hairbrush, and you can never complain about that band again, without risking your friend telling everyone your dirty little secret.
*** Girls Aloud- Sound of the underground
Nooo, that song got stuck in my head when it came out, I found myself singing it in work. Dancing to it in clubs. Please believe me.....I swear I don't like any of their other stuff. The fact that I own the single does NOT make me a Girls Aloud fan.
*** Aqua- Barbie Girl
I loved it, how embarrassing is that?! Everyone will remember this one...and the video.....oh god the video! It's just a fun song! "Come on barbie, lets go party, ah ah oh yeah.... Ahem.
*** Wham- Last Christmas
I love this song, mostly because I love Christmas. I hate all their other songs, sooo cheesy! Every Christmas it comes back to haunt me, played endlessly in all the bars and Lizzy, very merry after a few Xmas drinks starts to sing along....very loudly.
*** Bay city rollers- Bye bye baby
Granted, I was not around in their tartan clad glory days, however, this did not save me from my mothers music collection. I found myself tapping my feet to this song... even..gulp...singing along. I just pray this is never played on a night out, as I just don't trust myself.
The worst films are not going to escape my little list either.
Whisper --> The Matrix was not that great.. why do people keep going on about it? *starts to get slightly nervous that fans of the film may be reading this opinion*
I mean it was alright I suppose... but really, I can't get overexcited about it.
Star Wars is another one (I'm really digging my grave here).
Ok, I'm going to stop there.
In case I've offended anyone... I was only joking about Aqua, I'm sure they are a very talented band.
Thanks for reading.
Summary: The worst sayings, the worst songs, and overrated films.
