Advantages: I got to rant..
Disadvantages: You get to laugh at my rant..
Well since I spend the majority of my time rating to my friends and family about certain things that are really grating on my nerves and well they seem to just laugh at me so I thought I would put my rantings and raving to you, and give you a laugh if you think I'm going on and on.. Or if you agree with me then great, but I am sure at least one person will agree with one of the things that are getting on my nerves!! As the biggest majority of them affect everyone or most people regardless of circumstances.. Feel free to comment and give me a little rant of your own if I strike a chord with something I say..
Are you ready for extensive Laura ranting?.....
I apologise for the length of this but I had to get it off my chest!
~*~ Number Ten ~*~
My number ten thing that annoys the hell out of me are councils that decide to dig up our roads, to make some incredible change that in estimation cost into the millions in the first place... In the process of doing this they block of two out of the three lanes on a major road in my town, which can barely cope with the copious amounts of traffic that it takes morning noon and night... Morning rush hour traffic, and kids getting dropped off at school, all get stuck in traffic waiting hours to just get stuck in the same traffic after dropping the kids off..
Why these councils cannot pay these people to do the work in the evenings after rush hour or during the night is totally beyond me, yes I get it that it would cost more to do this but surely for the lack of problems it would cause would be worth the money we pay in copious amounts of council tax anyway?
As far as I am aware this is happening everywhere, anyone I have spoken to across the country, their councils do some pretty ridiculous things in order to lengthen, extend or enlarge something that really cannot be changed.. Either that or they see them to be necessary alterations to help the death toll on the roads... In my opinion the only death toll is the brain cells of some of the people making these frankly insane decisions, especially those who chose what to do in a town they do not live anywhere near and have no idea about how much a difference the idea they just declined would make....
Ok so if you are a council worker that makes these sort of ridiculous decisions then I am very sorry if I have offended you but for Christ's sake stop!!! (Excuse the religious reference there..)

Well the next thing that annoys me greatly is those people out there that for some strange reason like to stand outside in the middle of towns and cities, trying desperately to get you to sign up for any number of catalogues or companies.. Surely if we wanted to do it we already would have done it, I don't think some university student who is trying to make the extra pennies or maybe not if they volunteer (Good on them if they do!) really deserve the abuse they get for just doing their job...
So when someone shoves a clipboard in your face asking you for money, I can't remember which charity it was but asking anyone for five pounds a week to feed a total bunch of total strangers, when there is an economic crisis here I find a little preposterous.. I may sound incredibly selfish saying that but I work for my money to look after myself and I barely have enough for that so why should I bail someone else out..
Now I will not let you think I am totally harsh and cruel because I do give my fair share of money to charities, red nose day, children in need, anything like that, I will give anything I can spare because I do think I can help in a little way but under no circumstances can I afford to constantly give out and out with nothing in return - that again sounds selfish but I'm sure you know what I mean because I am not selfish I would just rather give time than money because I have too much time on my hands and never seem to find anything to do with it!
I apologise to any of you who do this it's nothing personal I just cannot stand being bugged when I have said no over and over again...

As pale and insignificant as it may seem the next thing that really gets on my nerves is people - who stand in the middle of the street talking who refuse to move, and those who refuse to move over to make space for two on the path, leaving me to walk on the road really irritate me..
I don't mind getting off the narrow paths for women with pushchairs and prams, and then for the older generation because it is respect, but sometimes when there is a group of people particularly those kind of young people who are a little disrespectful and feel the need to scream and shout at anyone daring to walk the street..
Then there are the people that stand in the middle of the street talking and gossiping about the things in their lives, fair enough you spot people in the street that you haven't seen for a while and want to catch up quickly.. The majority of the paths you can stand to the side of them out of the way of passers by so why not move? Why stand in the middle blocking us or making us walk through your conversation - where then you call us rude...
Then bloody get out of the way!!

Now I may seem a little hypocritical here because as I tell you another thing that annoys me I will admit to doing something along these lines myself.. People that decide to overtake you because you won't break the speed limit.. Now I am not going to lie I do break the speed limit occasionally down a back road or two, but I rarely do it on a main road especially ones that are prone to having accidents occur on them, as personally becoming another government statistic doesn't appeal to me..
I have a little blue Clio and it's not a hugely fast one but it will happily get to 60 (and a bit more without conking out on me) but for some in a national speed limit area that is not enough, they stay right on your tail until you start speeding, but why should we be pressured to break the speed limit, I might sound a little aging as I say this but surely the speed limit is there for a reason?
Anyway back to my actual problem, people that will not abide to the speed limit and stay somewhat safe on the road.. The road to my boyfriends house is a fifty, a forty, then a fifty, and someone recently decided he was going to over take me in the forty where he sped away, had to brake like mad to get past a speed camera without getting flashed, and guess what? I caught up with him.. So really what is the point of speeding?
There isn't!!!

People that insist on getting up every five minutes in the cinema to go to the toilet or bring back more food to munch on and annoy the rest of us, especially when they get nachos!!! This really got on my nerves on Sunday I had been waiting a long time for the new Watchmen film (which by the way is fantastic) and I got myself comfy with Sam (my boyfriend) with my Pepsi and my popcorn and waited for the film to start...
Then it started...
Five minutes into the trailers someone in a red top decided he would go out, fair enough it was only the trailers but the size of the popcorn he brought back you would think he would be sorted for the whole film.. Trust me it was about 2 foot tall - or maybe it just seemed that big..
But no...
Ten minutes into the film the same guy came thundering down the stairs again this time with two friends in tow, so there they were three 6 foot tall mid-twenties males bounding down the isle to get some more food no doubt, problem is they weren't just walking down the aisle they were talking and jeering too, which everyone else in the cinema was trying to watch the film... They came back holding two trays of nachos each, undoubtedly for them and their friends....
Here they go again..
For the rest of the film they carried on munching away, going back and forth making more noise than is really necessary to enjoy a film, but hey another film ruined for me and my boyfriend and the rest of the cinema...

This is a big bugbear for me.. You know when you walk into a supermarket or down the street and there is someone giving balloons away or freebies, vouchers from subway in particular - in the supermarkets free tries of food from behind a little stand.. Well I never get offered it...
I think I'm invisible...
Walking down the street the large subway costume comes wandering towards me and totally walks past me, ignoring the fact I am there completely, but the person behind me gets a handful of discount vouchers... What is that all about? Apparently it is mainly young people that buy subway, and I class myself as young - so why do I not get one?
I am beginning to think I'm definitely invisible..
As a way to test my invisibility I went to my local Asda that was giving away trials of a new bread, I walked directly up to the stand and pretended to look at the leaflets, the girl behind the stand looked right through me, not offering me a trial, so I asked if I could try a piece - guess what she turned around and started buttering more bread...
Conclusion: I am Invisible...

This is something mainly just on review sites that bugs me - Revenge raters, copiers and people that write a 6 line review expect exceptionals and when you don't give them one they come to your page and say 'why not be positive with friend.' That is so annoying oh it gives me a headache just thinking about it.. I know I shouldn't be slagging off this sites sister site, but if I get one more person trying to add me as a friend and they have professed 'if you rate 5 of my reviews and tell me I will surely do the same.' Honestly tell me I'm not going mad and these sites are not meant to be run like this?
I can rate people on Ciao.com fairly just as I would rate anyone on Ciao.co.uk or Dooyoo.co.uk as I see everyone's reviews with the same eyes and I am a customer just the same as they are but perhaps I feel the need to have a little more in depth information, maybe I am wrong for wanting an opinion not just an endless line or list of specification with no analytical look at the product, it's pros and cons, its prices and if it is worth it or not? 6 lines is not going to be helpful for any customer, and I am sure half the time people are not writing for the consumer they are writing to line their own pockets, without a care for the customer.. I personally feel just recently after helping people make consumer decisions that maybe I am helping people, why should someone flood a site with rubbish when good writers interested can help consumers..
~*~ Number Three ~*~
This is something you will only have noticed if you have a Facebook.. Facebook status updates do my head in, some of the people in my friends list update theirs pretty much every hour or so.. The idea behind these things is that once a day maybe you let the people you know, know what your up to - we don't care half the time if you've just had a cup of tea, or your dog just did a wee on the patio.. If you are going to bug us at least do it about something important...
I have noticed some people especially like to get back at ex boyfriends and girlfriends by posting nasty status' about them, it's not big or clever to spread lies or even if it is true we more than likely don't want to know come on we have more to do with our lives than watch your life go by... Even if we haven't we still don't care!
Even more to annoy me about Facebook, those little photos with masses of faces or characters in that you are meant to tag your friends in... Why? What is the point? The first person to do it was good, it was original but now its just getting stupid every time I log on there's a new one with 5 more of my friends tagged in - and do you know what I DON'T CARE!!!
Facebook has so many faults I cannot even list them all here without boring you to tears... Just know this don't log on more than once a day and you might avoid the madness...
~*~ Number Two ~*~
Now this and the number one are the two things that are bothering me most now... The second being Car Insurance, now I am sure I will get no end of comments that tell me that it's because they think all young drivers are dangerous - now I am not silly I completely understand that, but they are really quite wrong, well the majority of the time anyway.. I know I am not a bad driver, ok so as some of you know my first driving test was a complete disaster, but less than two weeks later I re-took it and passed with almost no faults so I can't be that bad a driver.. However all those car insurance companies out there assume, we all drive around in small cars, with big exhausts, massive wheels, lowered to within an inch of the ground and with massive speakers...
Well guess what.. We're not!
For those of you who are relatively new drivers I suggest the green insurance company, they quoted me just over £800 fully comp for my first year driving which compared to nearly £2,000 is a bargain..
~*~ Number One ~*~
For the moment the number one thing annoying me is that lovely mobile company '3' as you probably well know the company does a range of things.. Mobile phones, mobile broadband and pay as you go.. Well just as a word of warning from the start do not take out a mobile broadband contract with 3 because 2 weeks down the line it will stop working and then you will spend a fortune phoning the Glasgow call centre that appears to be filled with Indians, so maybe the call centre is in India..? Who knows? Either way they seem to spend the time they could be resolving customer issues with bingo instead.. They were playing bingo in the call centre when I first phoned them back in November, and every time I have phoned them since..
Anyway so this mobile broadband I'm sure you have seen is a little white USB modem that you plug in and instantly connects you to the internet.. If instant is either an hour later or not at all then yep they are right on the money! Instantly is the second you plug it in am I right? Yeah I thought I might be, well then someone ought to tell 3 that as they insist they are in the right and that their product works correctly..
Having been sent away once, taken to the store once, and run through an extensive amount of checks, and ruining my laptop once or twice, guess what?
It still doesn't work!!
You know what bothers me even more?
They have the cheek to send me the bill which says I have used a level of my allowance, which is not possible considering it has been sat in the bloody box they sent me it back in for months, because I am not paying silly amounts to get my laptop fixed again the same as last time I tried to use it...
Try telling this to 3 though, in their call centre you get pushed from person to person all saying we understand your problem Ms Coote, please give us one more chance to sort this for you, haha so what have I spent the past 5 months doing - not giving them chances? They are now sending me a jiffy bag to send the USB modem in so they can try and fix it again, the Manager of the call centre who I specifically requested to speak to said I could send it back at my leisure - considering they have ignored the problem for 3 months, I'm planning on doing it at my leisure... 2 or 3 weeks after I receive the bad should I send it off.... Any suggestions? Leave them in a comment!!
