Ok. My husband has just finished building me a new kitchen, (looks fab by the way) and I have been slowly putting all the stuff back in the nice new spacious cupboards. This afternoon I put the drinks back in and thought I could easily write a review about what's in my bar!! My husband is a Bacardi fan so we always have a bottle of Bacardi in the cupboard. He likes it with Diet Coke in the evenings. However, having just got over Christmas we actually have 3 bottles at the moment, as he got some as presents and one brought back from holiday by his mum and dad. Won't have to buy any of that for a while. Personally I can't stand it. Next was ...  Read the complete review

Ok so it is that time of year at the moment where everybody has a little time of work (hopefully) and the drink comes out so everybody can have a truly merry Christmas (well in our household it does anyway). What we always have in at home: So the first drinks that are always in our house are non-alcoholic which are lemonade, various flavours of squash and ...  Read the complete review

Have you ever rustled around the discussion categories looking for a subject to write about? No? Well if you haven’t you really should; it’s so liberating. It’s a bit like a lady swapping her sweaty, sticky frilly undergarments for a pair of cool shorts in the current hot weather spell. Needless to say, I did just that meself only recently to discover a category all about what’s in your bar. Crikey, blimey, here was a cat written about by loadsa folks although many postings were going back a bit. Yup, I enjoyed scooting through the intros and even found some quirky writing by writers who would never be considered quirky these days. Maybe they’ve become less quirky over ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Your Bar: Too much VAT on my VAT (791 words)

Although not physically a bar, we do have a top shelf, which at times is either completely empty, or nicely stocked with our favourite tipples. Neither of us are alcholics, we just like the odd few after a long hard day. Maybe a few friends coming over, a special occasion or party and so on - so no different from your usual drinkers. Where we live, prices aren't exactly cheap, in fact we have the highest alcohol tax in the EU! There's only one place which can legally sell you drinks above 3.5% too! Fortunately crossings to countries such as Poland, Estonia and Latvia are cheap from here, and the ...  Read the complete review
