YUL BRYNNER 11 JULY 1920 - 10 OCTOBER 1985

Yul Brynner with his exotic looks commanding presence and mysterious background was one of the most exciting hollywood stars.He was a brilliant actor famed as much for his bald looks as for his performances.
He was of Swiss- Mongoloid, Russian heritage which explained his exotic looks.
Started his career as a model and a trapeze artiste,graduating to the theatre and then films.
After several years of acting in regional theatre he debuted in " PORT OF NEWYORK" in 1949.In 1951, on the strength of his theater work for several years earlier,he was recommended for the role he would always be known for, The King of Siam in the musical " THE KING AND I " which won him the Best Actor Oscar.

Then came Another Brilliant performance and casting in Cecil B. DeMille's " THE TEN COMMANDMENTS" as Pharoah Rameses, an unforgettable role...
A string of movies followed " ANASTASIA" , " THE JOURNEY", "THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN" ,"SOLOMON AND SHEBA" , " WESTWORLD

He co-stared with Marlon Brando in " Morituri" and appeared in Peter Seller's comedy " THE MAGIC CHRISTIAN"
In addition to his work as a performer Yul Brynner was an active photographer and wrote 2 books on
photography.
Yul bryner was married four times of which the first 3 ended in divorce.Had three children and adopted two.
Brynner also had a much publicised affair with Actress Marelene dietrich in the early 1950's....
