Baumatic BFD65W ... this is made by a good company, this model is clearly a blip in their otherwise good service. The internal layout is poor - large pans do not fit into the bottom tray and wine glasses only fit into the top if the rather silly dropdown system is put into place. This lessens the capacity of the lower tray. This means that you have a choice between dinner plates or wine glasses - no real design thinking here. The drying function is also lacking, so water drips onto clean plates when you take things from the top. My final complaint is that the machine sometimes fails to drain, so you have to reset the electronics to use it again. I have had much better dishwashing f... Miele G1222SC ... previous dishwashers - both AEG - lasted for six years each: not bad, considering that we re real foodies and there s usually at least one member of our family cooking something! On an average day our dishwasher runs three times. Trouble is, AEG is now just a sub-brand of Electrolux, and it certainly shows: take a look at a new AEG dishwasher in the showroom and it has a depressing similarity to the supposedly lesser brands ranked alongside it. Bosch SRS43A02GB ... bought this dishwasher 4 years ago and it is still going strong. Bosch applicances tend to be tough and long lasting (even my plumber agrees). As I have a small kitchen, I bought the 45cm model (half size). Whilst it doesn t have as much space as the full size model, you can still stack 10-12 plates and still have space for a saucepan and frying pan in the bottom rack. The top rack is sturdy and can take quite a lot of weight (I put my supposed-to-be-handwashed japanese bowls here).
