Bosch SGV53E33GB

A good dishwasher is a necessity in any kitchen. Yes it is a luxury as we could always wash up the old fashioned way buy why do that when you can have a machine do it for you. I understand of course that not everyone has the room nor the money for one of these. This dishwasher is by Bosch not a name I would be very aware of but still it ... so far has worked well and I have no qualms in recommending this kitchen appliance.
It's the results that count when it comes to a good dishwasher and the glasses come out sparkling (we use Finnish power ball Tabs and of course the quality and cleaning power of the tabs will make a huge difference in the end result of your cleaned dishes and cutlery). There is no dried food between the prongs of our forks like there was on our old dishwasher. I don't have to rinse off lightly spoiled plates or pots. There can be very stubborn foods like a dried on porridge pot or cabbage pot and in those cases I do rinse them before hand as they have come out with the odd little hard as a rock speck here and there in the past.
This dishwasher takes a large amount of dishes, pots and the like. It is surprising how much I can fit into it if I pack it properly. It is extremely easy to load, there are plenty of racks for different sized plates and I like to place my cups and glasses on the top rack as they sit more comfortably up there I find. The large plate racks on the bottom shelf fold down. This is great if I have an extra large pot to clean or a large serving dish that otherwise would not fit into the dishwasher. Such large items will need to go on the bottom rack because the top rack has less room for such things seeing it is so close to the top of the dishwasher. It has a twelve plate setting according to my mum, all I know is we regularly fill it to the brim and need to leave some dishes in the sink until the wash has finished then pop them in and leave it until it fills up again.
One annoying thing is some cups have dips in their tops had the water does tend to sit in these so I do have to use some kitchen roll to dry their tops before lifting them out. If I don't do this the water will spill down on to the bottom rack and wet the dishes. Even if I remove the dishes for the bottom first, by moving the cups they themselves will get wetter than they need to. This is of course the design of the cups fault but most cups and some glasses will have this indentation on the bottom so it is worth mentioning. I wish they could blast it with hot air before I open it to evaporate these irritating puddles of water.
Another bit of information from my mother is that this is an A rated dishwasher. There ate different settings on this washer from a cold rinse, to the hottest setting to remove stubborn stains all the way down to an Eco friendly setting that washes at a lower temperature. This dishwasher looks great and unlike most it has a sturdy easy to grip handle on the door.
As I said it works great, looks great and I should add it makes very little no ice compared to our previous model the only sounds I hear are the water swishing, the tab dropping, the water draining and occasionally the odd clink and clank of a spoon or fork moving. Read the complete review |

Indesit IDF125K

We are are a family of 4 and are all out at work so a dishwasher is an essential item for our household.
This dish washer has been efficent in its workings and is energy saving too. Used everyday and never a problem, quite quiet too when in operation. Have had to replace the front fascia as the handle is not too sturdy, however ... this was ordered direct from indesit parts department and only cost £13 with free postage. My other half fit the part in 10 minutes and no further problems to report, not exactly a fault with the design, possibly more to do with the heavy hands of my family! Full cycle takes about 90 minutes but I would advise waiting another 10 to 15 minutes before emptying as the plates, cups, etc are often still very hot - we tend to put the dishwasher on last thing at night as we go to bed and then they are all clean and cooled for the morning, the only problem then being who is going to empty it! Bosch SMS65E18GB
by bilbobaginz
Up until very recently every child dreaded that time in evening after dinner when your parents asked you to wash up the pots in the traditional and time-consuming manner previously practised. Nowadays everything has changed, and it's due to technological advancements achieved in the washing sector - this model from Bosch represents the ... culmination of a long process of development and investment in the industry. The 'SMS65E18GB' full-sized dish washer is designed to fit within a kitchen both aesthetically and practically, with its standard dimensions and sleek silver exterior.
The exact measurements of the product for anyone seriously considering buy it are: Height 84.5cm, width 60cm, depth 60cm. The dimensions mimic the usual space found underneath a work top, within a gap about the same width as a double cupboard or set of draws. Behind the washer there must be a plumbed in connection tot he water mains and electricity of the house, which has to be completed by a certified professional. For the space this device takes up you get a 13-place setting machine: each setting fits a soup bowl, dinner plate, side plate cup, saucer, glass, 5 cutlery pieces and additional serving utensils.
The machine works excellently and can be set to complete the process in different times when programmed using the front display and buttons. The machine is very user friendly, I'm sure anyone could use it with a little help from the instruction guide it comes with. the machine takes on average 6.5 litres of water which varies when selecting different wash temperatures (and there are five to choose).
The washer is A++ rated for energy efficiency which is a good grading. It has a less appealing A rated wash performance and A rated drying performance. The drying isn't up to the standard I've seen from other similar products, and though plates seem to dry relatively quickly, cutlery and cups take much longer. Occasionally I have to use a towel to dry bits and bobs as I remove them from the washer.
A separate soap product has to be bought and placed into the machine before every wash. There is a large variety of these on the market (especially in super-markets) and the machine takes the standard sized units most machines do. For just over £400 you can purchase one of these washers, which isn't bad considering the range of features, size of the interior, ease in use-ability, and good looks of the machine.
