Growing up, I had one very important chore in the house. If I close my eyes I can still hear my mum shouting down the stairs of a morning: "Empty the dishwasher!". So since leaving home many years ago, I have never had a dishwasher and this has never bothered me - I guess in part due to bad memories of having to empty the family one, a chore I truly hated. So I have never felt any need to have one of these pesky machines in my life. Then I moved into a new house to find there was a) a space for a dishwasher and b) no draining board. So I felt that it was time to let go of the past and finally bite the bullet. So I did a quick search online and chose ... Read the complete review

When we first moved into our house nearly five years ago now, we were lucky enough to have a dishwasher already installed which the previous owner was kind enough to leave for us. As this was already second hand, and we have used it regularly over the last 5 years, it was now starting to look a bit worn and it wasn't working to the best of its ability so we decided to order a new one. I tend to do most of my shopping online and searched a few decent brands to see what came up. Beko seemed to be the brand that gave best value for money as the pennies are a bit tight at the moment, and the one which seemed to suit our needs best was available from Next, which I ... So when we moved to our new house last December, there were conveniently two gaps left under the work benches in the kitchen left from the previous occupants; obviously one for the washing machine, but with one toddler and another on the way, my wife and I quickly decided a dishwasher would be an essential purchase! This Beko DWD 4311 won't break the bank; we got ours from an online retailer for a more than reasonable £195 with delivery (not installation mind) and I figured after checking a few reviews that you couldn't go too far wrong at that price. This model is free standing, making installation a doddle (although I fell on the side of caution and hired a ... Read the complete review

I've had this dishwasher for two months and was a god send after the last one which leaked and caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to my kitchen. The stylish sleek design and the anti-flood device was the first thing that appealed to me about this dishwasher. I needed something reliable as i did not want a repeat performance of the last one. I found that after shopping around a bit, this dishwasher was reasonably priced at £229 from currys. Not bad for the amount of work it does. The machine seems very powerful and gets the dishes clean without having to initially rinse them before putting them in. It has 5 different programmes. One of which is a rapid wash cycle .. We got this dishwasher at around £230 with a 1 year guarantee, after having to leave our other one at our old house. It comes with 4 different settings: rapid 35 degree C; Economy 50 degree C; Quick and clean 60 degree C; and Intensive 70 degree C. Its total size is 85.0(H) x 59.8(w) x 59.8(d)cm, with 2 racks, 1 on the top and 1 on the bottom. On each of the racks you are able to adjust the plate racks if you want to put pans or any bigger objects in. It comes with a cutlery basket too, with different sized holes for different size cutlery. The problem we found with this is some of our cutlery did not all fit, as the smaller holes seemed to out number the ... Read the complete review
