Advantages: Price okay. Cleans well. Different wash cycles. Arrangement okay.
Disadvantages: Stops mid cycle. Broke 3 times in 18 months.
I have recently replaced my Belling IDW604 dishwasher after it broke down for the third time in 18 months. My feelings on this dishwasher are mixed, for reasons that I will explain. I know when I bought it 2 years ago it cost be £359.00, but it is currently available from Currys (www.currys.co.uk) for £299.99. Although this seems like a decent price for a dishwasher, because of the fact that it has broken down on three occasions, I can't really recommend it despite the reasonable price.
In terms of its size, the dishwasher is acceptable and it is a suitable size for my family of six people - although I would need to put on several washes a day. The organisation of the dishwasher is fairly standard with two shelves that slide in and out with slots for dishes and bowls incorporated in both the top and bottom shelf, and a cutlery box on the bottom shelf. On the top shelf there is also room for cups and glasses. I can fit in everything that I would want to fit in. Parts of the rack can be adjusted depending on your need, but these adjustments are not really necessary or helpful in my opinion.
As with most dishwashers, there are various wash cycles to choose from, namely normal wash, rinse and hold, intensive wash, economy wash, glass / delicatates. I would generally stick with the normal wash because this tended to suit my needs fine. I would occasionally use the intensive wash but, to be honest, didn't really see any difference between the results of the intensive and normal wash cycles. There was also the option of a half load option but again I never really had the need to use this but it was still good to have it as an option.
My concerns with this model are not to do with how well the dishwasher washes. It actually seems to wash dishes well and while there may occasionally be items that are not washed completely on the first cycle, this tends to be items such as baking dishes which are very caked. However, I do have issues with the fact that on three separate occasions the dishwasher would just stop working mid-cycle and then stop working completely.
Overall, while this dishwasher works well when it is working, it is not reliable and so for this reason I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Summary: Cannot recommend as unreliable.
