Just over 8 years ago, I wrote a short review on my slimline Zanussi dishwasher. Now, I am sad to say, it has lived out its useful life and is no longer a member of our household. To give it its due, it lasted well and washed many hundreds of thousands of dirty dishes over the years. However, a few months ago we would open it in the morning to retrieve a breakfast bowl or two, and find everything was still dirty. Then we realised it had stopped part way through its cycle. We'd reset it and leave it to run but it couldn't seem to manage without us helping it on its way. Then my husband broke the dial on the front, making it even more difficult to operate. ... After nine years of faithful service my old Bosch dishwasher started to leak. Not knowing if it was the seals or something more sinister I decided to bite the bullet and just replace it as new seals were £50+ anyway and a callout fee was £100 +VAT. I managed to acquire an old copy of Which? magazine in which dishwashers had ben reviewed. Which had rigorously tested numerous makes and models of dishwashers and this was their best buy. There seem to be lots of shelves and folding bits on the top layer which I removed as it gave me more space. I found that the so called space savers just got in the way and meant that a normal sized mug wouldn't fit. The cutlery basket has instructions that suggest using the basket with the top closed and slotting each item of cutlery into a seperate space. Unfortunately my cutlery is too big to fit into the holes available so although I can see how this would ... Read the complete review

Our previous Bosch dishwasher was starting to struggle a little with the rinse cycle of the wash programme after many years of excellent service. Because of the quality and reliability we had experienced with that machine we decided to replace it with a newer model. The new dishwasher has very similar features and is what we expected in terms of space and low levels of noise, and it washes the dishes thoroughly . I particularly like the delay feature which switches the machine on several hours later as we run it on Economy 7 to save money. The cover on the cutlery basket is useful for separating individual items of cutlery so they get properly cleaned. The shelves ... Read the complete review
