Advantages: brilliant wash results everytime, very quiet, remembers the last wash used

Disadvantages: long cycle times

If you’re anything like us being without a dishwasher is like losing a family member (perhaps that’s because someone’s always chained to the sink otherwise)

We brought are new dishwasher 2 months ago now. Seeing our last machined decided to pack up 1 day after Boxing Day. (we’d only had it for 4 years)

We listened to friends and family who all own Bosch dishwashers, and decided Bosch was the way to go. So off we went to curry’s.

Once in the store we were faced with a selection of 3 slimline Bosch dishwashers, these being the logixx model (the all singing all dancing, make you breakfast in bed model, the most expensive of the three), the exxcel model (mid range with fewer features than the logixx), and then there was the classixx (the cheapest, which just washed dishes).

Seeing that we didn’t want to spend over 300 quid on the machine, the only choice was the classixx (which was in the sale at £240 normally £260). We snapped up the bargain hoping to take it home on the day unluckily it was out of stock and had to be ordered in which would take a week.

Anyway after a week the machine was in our kitchen raring to go.

Opening it up for the first time I came face to face with a manual, a reinforced water inlet pipe, and a box of Finish Dishwasher products (great I thought to myself, until I opened it and found it contained just two finish 3 in 1 tablets and a coupon book, considering our old one came with three tablets, a little pot of rinse aid, salt, and a lemon thingy I felt a bit ripped off)

The machine is cold fill only, and doesn’t have an auto cycle or LCD countdown like its relatives. one of the first things that the bosch will want before it washes is to be told how how your water is. this for us was easy we live in a very hard water area so we turned the water softner to max.

On the front panel of the dishwasher there is an on/off button followed by the handle in the centre, then an end indicator light and then the program selection buttons.
There are 5 programs these being: Intensive, Normal, Eco, Quick, and Pre rinse. So far we have just used the quick cycle (lasts just 30mins), and the eco cycle (lasts 2 and a half hours!!) these two cycles bring up perfect results every time and so we haven’t tried the other 2 main washes.
By the way the eco cycle has achieved the machines A wash, A energy and B drying rating. Also the front of the machine has two indicators for low rinse aid and low salt.

the inside of the machine is stainless steel and has an concealed element (something our old machine didn’t have), it has 2 main spay arms both made of plastic (but they are really solid), in the bottom rack there is a 4 compartment cutlery basket which u can place anywhere in the bottom rack, also in the bottom rack there are 2 foldable plate racks which increase the washing space for pots and pans when down or extra plates when up.

The top basket has a knife holder on the left hand side which is clipped on to the top of the rack, on the right side of the basket there is a fold down long stemmed glass holder, and in the front of the rack there are holders for 5 bowls/small plates. Also another interesting feature the Bosch has is that in the roof of the machine there is a water jet which showers the washing up with water.

So far the machine has handled all sorts of cooking messes (from jacket potatoes right up to baked on cottage pie) and has brought perfect results every time, no rewashing needed with this machine. Neither do you need to rinse dishes before you place them in the washer as all but two cycles (Quick and Pre Rinse) have a pre wash before the main wash water is added.

also this machine is very quiet when running, when we first ued it i had to open it up just to make sure it was washing, and the machine remembers the last cycle used so all you have to do to get it running is press the start button

The detergent compartment is also very big and can hold a tablet very easily. Also it holds those new fairy active bursts as well.

The only thing I don’t really like about this machine is the fact that the cycles take so long to complete. The quick wash is fine but when doing any cycle above that the wash times increases dramatically. Also more room in the top rack for bowls would have been nice.

Summary: This dishwasher is great for anyone looking for bosch performance, on a small budget
