Advantages: Very efficient, Many useful features, Excellent for a family
Disadvantages: n/a, n/a, n/a
The last six months I have spent in my new home have been hell, why, because we haven't been able to get our fantastic Hotpoint Aquarius DF62 dishwasher plumbed in. This baby comes with more features than you can shake a stick at and also comes in several different colour combinations. Those colour combinations are as follows: Natural Linen with Calico Trims All Classic Polar White Classic Polar White with Mercury Trims Classic Polar White with Pistachio Green Trims Classic Polar White with Soft Lilac Trims Classic Polar White with Ice Blue Trims Zircon Silver with Graphite Trims Now for the science bit. As I touched upon at the start of this opinion, the Aquarius DF62 has so many features that will make anyone's life so much easier. To start with there is enough room to wash 12 place settings, which is perfect for a family and those who do one big wash a day. For those of us who are single or a couple with no children, there are also compact versions of this dishwasher in the Aquarius range so you won't miss out. There are 5 programme and 3 temperature combinations. Super wash 65 degrees centigrade for tougher soiling. Normal wash 65 degrees centigrade for normal soiling. Economy wash 55 degrees centigrade for more efficiency, quick wash 40 degrees centigrade for those with time limits and delicate wash 40 degrees centigrade for items that need a little extra TLC. You can set your dishwasher to start when you want it to as this model has got up to nine hours time delay. So, if you want to use your electricity/water at night you can set it before you go out or go to bed and it will start while your utilities are cheaper to use. Not only that, Hotpoint's built in energy System makes sure that water and energy consumption is low. A recent study has shown that dishwasher models such as the Bosch SGS 6312 and the Hotpoint DF62 are energy efficient and use much less water than conventional mod
els. Other features are acousticlad sound insulation, which is also brilliant if you do use it at night because of the reduced noise. It has a one-touch programme selection, programme progress indicator and a salt refill indicator. That is not all, however, as this appliance also has a concealed heating element, 5-way multi-directional spray action, the special fifth spray level continuously cleans the filter, residual drying and internal condensing, automatic salt regeneration and built-in water softener (ideal for hard water area's), easy clean 3-way filtering, a height adjustable top basket plus full width fold down plate racks and cutlery basket in the lower basket. I absolutely love this dishwasher and we certainly made the right decision when we chose this particular model to make things easier when our son was born. It costs anywhere from £299.99 to £329.99 depending on where you go but it is so efficient that I wouldn't hesitate to spend an extra £30.00 if I could not get it anywhere else. So if anyone is thinking about purchasing a dishwasher this is definitely one to be considered if only for its energy saving properties.
